The things they mentioned £6k would buy back then in the 1970s-1980s makes no sense to me, back then in Lancashire and probably many other locations £6k could buy at least three brand new built houses with three bedrooms and a large garden, it was still possible to buy preowned houses at a cost 3k-6k in the early 2000s so I don't understand why the area they are in would cost so much more at that time.
