🚀I served on this ship from 1973-1976 in Gaeta, Italy.  It was a great time for me and my Sailor and Marine buddies had.  We went all over Europe and the Mediterranean Ocean.  My ship opened up the Suez Canal.  I must see my ship before my passing.  I know every corner of this vessel as I was a 2nd Class Hull-Tech who supervised new sailors on how to do repairs on the ship.  I always had one blast of a time when I had them new Sailors flush out the crappers which were often clogged by some idiots who flushed the whole toilet roll in the crapper.   It was nasty work and tedious at all times. Hull Techs were the work horses in the Snipes Division.  This brings back plenty of memories of my time on the Little Rock.

This is what social media should be, content that feeds the mind.  Thank you to all preserving our history.

Shane is a mastermind of information. Glad to have him at forefront of the museum.

This video cured my boredom.

My Dad served on her from 69 to 71.  He was aboard when they responded to the attack on U.S.S Liberty, picking up survivors.

On his 60th birthday, my brothers and I surprised him with a trip to see his old ship he thought was melted to scrap long ago.

Was a wonderful trip.  He was able to take us into the non public areas of the ship and for the first time, he could see the aft portion of the ship with the missile system.  Was off limits to him while he served.

Thanks for keeping her afloat!

This video is better than some movies.

I refueled the Little Rock many times in 1971. I loved the ship because they had the best band in the fleet. When they came along side and the hoses were connected and the fuel flowing the band would come out and set up and play their hearts out. It was boring to sit and run the refueling cables and hoses between ships but listening to them crank out the tunes made it more than bearable. Thanks guys wherever you are today. Many ships had bands and some more than one but the Little Rock was a class all their own!

This is the kind of content the internet needs.
