Even though I’m Japanese, I often feel confused when I return to Japan!?
Easy Japanese listening practice about reverse culture shock, language confusion, everyday life in Japan, and having two places that feel like home.
Hi everyone! I’m Suzuka! 😊
In this episode, I talk about the reverse culture shock I feel every time I return to Japan after living in Korea. 🇯🇵🇰🇷
In this video, I talk about:
・Mixing up Japanese and Korean, and getting confused by Japanese words and polite language
・Feeling a little panicked by everyday rules in Japan, such as buses, meal tickets, and self-checkout machines
・Thinking about where I belong while feeling that both Japan and Korea are “home”
This is not a comparison about whether Japan or Korea is better. It is a personal story about the experiences and changes I have noticed while living in Korea and returning to Japan.
