Freezing Cold River Camp in the 4x4 Camper Van

Join Bernie and me as we head out into the native bush for a freezing overnight camp in Buddy, the Isuzu Elf 4x4 camper van. Parked right alongside a crystal-clear mountain stream at the top of the South Island, temperatures dropped down past -3.5°C with heavy frost and ice forming along the riverbank.

We fired up the Cobb grill for some honey buffalo wings and oven chips, enjoyed a night walk under the stars, had a relaxed chat about upcoming road trips, and woke up to a stunning frozen morning with fresh coffee and a classic Kiwi sausage sizzle by the stream.

I watched this video today. It makes my heart hurt to know how nasty people can be. Especially when the answer is “if you don’t like what you are seeing/hearing, move on to something else”. I watch you, Luke,Tim and Eden, Katie, Wild Bear, Ruth, Norwegion Explorer, Bald, Simon, Ben and Cat. I consider you all my travel buddies, as I cannot camp anymore due to my health, as you know. Dying is no fun at all.

Tony, did NOT change or stop giving your thoughts & opinions of the world. I appreciate You & your honesty. As for the Trolls & Nasty piece of work folks, its Terrible to say gross things about Luke from the Outdoors Boys! Just like AB Camping, Lone Wolf & Baum Outdoors, its Crazy to be hateful to others who are giving Wonderful content. Especially for those of us who Can't do these things for various reasons. Pat from Maryland, USA. Love watching you & Luke & have heard him mention your tiny hands & feet. And you can tell he's doing in jest & knows he likes you. But know it hurts you both when people make hurting comments about you or your families. Easy for us to say ignore them but know it isn't for either of you. Just know there are many who enjoy your adventures & your views on life. No one says we all have to agree but not nice to be nasty. Love your trips whether in a tent or camper. We're all getting older-I just turned 81 so I know what age trying to do things same as always can affect you. Stay strong & cant wait til next adventure with Bernie.❤
