I love my RX10iv, and I will be first in line for the RX10.
Thank you for the updates.

I have a Sony A1 but my RX10IV is still my go to camera for so many situations, hiking, holidays, wildlife...

Lots of people are buying Nikon P1100 cameras and I guess Sony realised they were missing out on sales.

That close up of the dragon fly was 🔥 I’m glad to hear you still endorsing the Miv. A battery upgrade would definitely be welcome!

I'm hoping the V will mean after a while there are some reduced prices for used IVs.

Mk4 owner here - still enjoying its outstanding capabilities but very much looking forward to your review of the Mk5 Stuart

I hope it comes with a tilt screen as I really like it as a stadium binoculars alternative and tilt is good for sitting.

The RX10iv got me into bird photography. It made it possible to get some rather good photos of very small birds at a time when I didn't know the names of the birds. As a total novice it was delivering results that surprised everyone with their detail, colours and scale. Wish I could share some images here to show you what is possible by an amateur with the RX10iv. I can't wait to see what Sony have stuffed into the Mk5.

I've had my RX10IV since it was released and have used it for wildlife, street, aircraft and even landscapes it never ceases to amaze me. It is only one camera in my kit and although I have technically better cameras this remains my go to fun camera that does it all. The haters are (in my opinion) people that need a camera to take their photos and do it all for them and as you rightly stated the RX10IV in manual is a true performer. Great viseo

The RX10 IV is great for a whole range of photography. My wife has some really good wildlife shots with her RX10 IV. I liked it so much she got me one! 😊 Very happy with it! Looking forward to seeing the new RX10 V. 😊❤

There have been rumours that Canon was  planning something similar, but nothing has materialised , which could be Canon’s loss. I’ve pretty much  decided to buy the Mark V, but will definitely keep the IV too, as it is still a pleasure to use.  Like you, I didn’t use mine  for a while, then realised how much I missed it. There’s a lot of dissing in the photographic world but I reckon  some people just get a kick out of thinking they know better than everyone else . Very nice video Stuart. Thank you. Love the dragonfly. Who could diss that? 😂

For me here's what I would like to see from the RX10V:

- State of the art AI autofocus
- State of the art 1" sensor (Sony can't honestly announce they haven't improved sensor tech in 10 years so they are sticking with the same sensor, that would be incredibly embarrassing!)
- State of the art processing chips
- Improve the IS as much as possible, whether that's in lens or an IBIS, I don't mind.
- The much larger NP-FZ100 batteries
- Dual card slot would be amazing but I can't see Sony ever giving us this on this range
- Improved screen and EVF
- The lens I'm fine with, I wouldn't have thought they can improve on it much could they
- I would like to see computational photography used in camera to help improve the limitations of a 1" sensor, a phone with a tiny sensor and tiny lens shouldn't beat my A1 with a f1.4 prime on it but they do sometimes (I just did a wedding in a cave and phone photos looked incredible!)

Im still plugging away with the 2nd hand mk1 i got in 2019 when i started back into photography. Anybody else out there using/enjoying a mk1?
Enjoyable video.

Great pictures Stu
Sony should make you a Sony Ambassador and send you a mk5

I work in a bavarian camera store and have sold between 2017 and end of life in march 2025 180 pieces of the RX 10 IV and there are still a lot of people  who want an RX10IV. I show my pictures taken with the RX 10 IV on big tv-screen. And the customers are amazd. I think if the price is okay the RX 10 V will sell very  well.

There's high deman for rx10 and i would be suprised it selling out fast if the price and specs are great. I got therx10 mark 4 last year and have loved it and despite paying over the odds brand new for it, i would upgrade if it means better image quality such as longer distance or higher mp. If its just upgrade to tracking then i think ill leave it, but will have to see. Im so excited for the reveal and glad they are still manufacturing it. I agree with all your comments on this stuart

RX10IV Is The best vacation/ family camera. Can hold one kid in your left hand and still zoom and shoot with your right. Pretty good at elementary to high school outdoor sports as well. Only have to take one kit, not a whole bag full of lenses. Took mine to Washington and NYC last year, to the CA coast, sent it with my daughter on her HS trips.  I’d buy the new version.

I've come across a lot of birders who use the RX10 IV of all ages and genders. I use one myself as it's the best grab and go on the market. I've also lent batteries to fellow birders who needed one for those last images of the day, one of which was the first time the photographer had seen and captured a Bittern. Great camera and great experiences. And yes I do have a mirrorless but I use that for astrophotography. I'm glad you've put this video out there.

If it comes in under 2500 USD I will likely buy one. I am hoping for an eyepiece upgrade but if the things we know about it already pan out then it could be a really great camera. I’m more excited for this than any new camera announcement in the last couple of years. It sounds like they have fixed most of the issues I had with the Mark 4. Basically it sounds like a Restomod RX10iv. What’s not to love?

i had the lumix 2500 first .. got a dud .. swapped it out for a rx 10 mk 3 did not like the hunting of focus  .. when they put the rx 10 mk 4 with phase detect ... one of the best cameras that i own ... also have the rx 100 mk 7.. the same could not be happier
