What an interesting circular career! Starts off with prop flying, almost doesn't make it into USAF, gets into an adversary squadron manned mostly by experienced veterans, gets an elite USAF squadron posting, gets an elite RAF squadron posting, becomes the veteran training new guys, goes back to prop flying. As a Portuguese who was brought up in the US but lived most of my life in the UK, I can confirm, the UK is an absolutely amazing place. I really enjoyed this interview. My favourite fighter-jet is the Typhoon and to hear how capable it is from a 5th gen pilot, it really makes you proud of the UK. God bless the UK.

I very rarely leave any comments on U-tube content but in this instance, and purely because Ammo came across as such a really decent chap, I felt that I wanted to leave a few comments.
His humble but obviously professional demeanour is a credit to him and he is, in my opinion, an outstanding  example of a member of the USAF, an individual who is not the gung-ho, hot head, type that is often the media image of the stereo typical military pilot.
I’m pleased that Ammo enjoyed his time in the UK and was able to experience some of what our country offers regarding natural beauty and a decent amount of history.
His obvious enthusiasm and dedication expended in his success in becoming a military pilot and his continuing love of flying and aviation in general is inspirational.
Thank you sharing these memories.

Takes years to train pilots..  years to build ordnance... years in dock to maintain carriers..  the list goes on. An uptick in a kinetic conflict and...    HELLO!!!!!!

The language issue is easily overcome by the simple immersion of the day to day work.  I did a Phantom exchange at Coningsby in the mid-70s. One of my best tours! Returned to career level school and was told that my intro videoed presentation was great but to say it in “American” next time! LOL

The coins in the beams at the Bluebell were put there to buy the drink when they returned from the sortie, so the coins there are for airmen that did not get to come back. The Bluebell is a village owned pub with excellent food and events.

What I found most interesting in this video is the professional recognition of the capabilities of Raptor and Typhoon - many videos on here as well as in the social media cesspit are "AAARRRGH USA RaPtoR Is b3St!!!" whereas they're actually different aircraft with different roles. I appreciate the radar comments around 20:30 but otherwise the Typhoon is a very capable platform.

Your parents should be proud sir, you are a gentleman. Class act. Professionalism at its finest.
