"How long can these presentations go on for?"

Forever, Dave. Forever.

So sorry to hear about Kubota-sans passing. He sounds like a great hardworking man.

Dave I'm not sure you even realize how much these videos help business owners and young entrepreneurs. Not only do we do it because we love your business and we love the Japanese prints, but getting to see this in depth of a view into your business every year is just something you don't get to see anywhere else. It really gives you an inside look of what it takes to run a business and take care of employees

I am so sorry about your friend and colleague. 🙇🏻‍♂️💔

Dreams of Future Past is one of the most beautiful series Mokuhankan have ever produced. Such original designs and the colours are stunning. It’s a fantastic achievement especially with the extra challenges this year brought your company.

Rest in Peace Kubota-san! Chiharu Kawai is a real gem! 💠 Dave you've done something incredible at Mokuhankan - you are a living legend!

Huge respect to Dave as a printmaker and as a business owner, at 74! The evolution of Mokuhankan truly is impressive to witness.

Navigating through the ups and downs, keeping the standards high for the work, prints, and employees despite the pressure and challenges. Bravo!

I just have to say, seeing your videos over the years has always been inspirational and uplifting. Seeing how you and your colleagues have kept these skills and crafts alive, so very alive. It means so much to me that your print shop is thriving.

This might have been the most transparent video I've ever watched. This guy is a good business man

The transparency and openness of how you run Mokuhankan is deeply gratifying as is the super quality work being produced (I'm lucky to have four samples). This is the first time I've been left with a sour taste ... I hope you don't leave those old/original subscribers "out in the wind" even after the one subscriber's complaints. The sour taste is from not hearing any plan on addressing the shortcoming. Keep doing your best!!

I always love these year-end recaps. Hearing about Kubota-san, the hit to printer capacity, and the fact that there won’t be a new subscription series next year for the first time since 1989 was sobering, but I really appreciate how openly you walk us through what’s happening behind the scenes. The washi progress (and Murata-san ending up on that commemorative stamp sheet!) was such a bright spot, and the new curated exhibition space in the shop sounds like the perfect next chapter. I’ve been on Patreon since 2020 and a fan long before, so thanks for keeping us in the loop and for everything you and the team do.

I'm really sad to hear about Kubota-san's passing. Pancreatic cancer is purportedly one of the most painful as well. I hope he didn't suffer.

Dave, I hope and pray that you and your team navigate through the turbulence as best as you can.

I've recieved just as much enjoyment from your shin hanga subscription prints as I have from my slowly growing collection of Hasui Kawase and Tsuchiya Koitsu prints from the Watanabe and Doi printing houses of old. They'll all be well looked after and enjoyed throughout many decades to come.

Always looking forward to these, that even the last one announcing "Dreams of Future Past" felt so recent and not a year ago. Condolences for the loss of Kubota-san; from your streams this year, you clearly admired him and he was such an important part of the Mokuhankan team. It's been a rough year for you all, but I'm glad to see your business is still healthy despite all that, and hope 2026 gives you all room to breathe and the time to recuperate.

I don't watch streams and occasionally watch some of the videos on the channel. But I always watch the new year videos. I don't know why but after nearly 8 years of following Dave, these videos just bring me comfort for the new year for some reason and I always appreciate them. Sorry to hear for your loss Dave and I imagine the subscription notice must have a been difficult. But. I hope 2026 will be a fruitful year for you. Thanks for always making these year end videos.

Dave is the type of captain you want when sailing through a storm! You and your team have done amazing things in spite of so much adversity, what an accomplishment!
