I know I broke quite a few traditional kitsuke rules in this one, but I believe it's about having fun and experimenting. Well, at least for what I do with kimono, anyway. There's enough stressful stuff in our lives and there's no need to stress over yet another thing, right? ๐ Even though I had some struggles in the midst of this kitsuke session, I'm glad I took the time to play with these beautiful garments.
One thing I keep forgetting to mention in my videos is footwear. Like other measurements, I have larger feet than traditional Japanese sizes. I have found some "large" zori while visiting Japan, but they are still too small for me. So, I like to wear sandals, boots, and other footwear I normally have around. What's been your experience with kimono footwear? I should dig into this more and see if there are places I can get larger zori and geta within my budget.
What do you think about my next project idea? Spoiler alert! It's going to be kind of a doozy... ๐ตโ๐ซ
Share with us what you're working on these days. If you wear kimono, what's been your go-to obi musubi during the summer heat? What about going into the cooler weather?
