We tied the Super Mario Bros. Any% TAS world record.
But tying the theoretical limit wasn’t the goal. I wanted to know if there was anything left to optimize.
So in this video, I go through the entire Any% route level by level and look at exactly where the remaining frames could come from. From Framerules and Flagpole Glitches in 1-1, to the 1-2 wall clip, the 4-2 Wrong Warp, the Bullet Bill Glitch in 8-2 and finally World 8-4, where a single frame would be enough to improve the entire run.
After thousands of years of simulated gameplay, some levels are faster than the TAS. Others match it exactly.
So how much faster can Super Mario Bros. actually get?
