2:39 look how little shaded citadel changed since the alpha version!

This vid really has a dream-like aura to it. I wonder if someone who hadnt played rainworld would feel the same, or if its from knowing the completed product

It’s crazy to see that some of it barely changed at all, especially like at 0:38 that room is still in the game to this day

It's interesting to see that the iterators have been a concept since the alpha and the two rooms in this that made it into the final game.

The character's movements are so strangely lifelike, and the world is so decayed and beautiful. I'm really looking forward to playing this game.

Oddly enough this is one of the games im most excited for this year. Something about the world and the way it moves just makes it feel so alive

slugcat

Rain World then: just a few lizards.
Rain World now: OH MY WORD IT'S A RED CENTIPEDE! AAAAAAAAAAAAA.

2:44 oh wow i just noticed that this is basically the cool new Outer Expanse gate/shelter things! I always wondering what was up with those. Maybe just a tribute to the cut stuff just like how slugpups were. Thats really awesome!!!

it's amazing to see how much some of the rooms and regions have evolved and some remained mostly unchanged

also i wonder what the original vision for the underhang was because i imagine the lore was not fully thought out at that point of development

You know I've never posted something like this on YouTube but I have no words on this earth, Bible or dictionary to describe the nostolga this game emit jus know this videocult if you ever see this you are my brother who brought me up when I was 8 years old on that fateful date August 16th 2017...

whatever happened to the brain tree? 1:20
Is it an easter egg that nobody ever found?
Many slugcats have traversed to every corner of the world map and... no brain tree :(

I love seeing videos of the alpha version and comparing it to the released version. Both have a unique feel and the end result turned out so amazing!

10 years later... this game now has an amazing community, 9 slugcats to play as (not including all the mods), and a 10th slugcat is coming in 6 months... This game has truly evolved...

I think this version would work on a Nokia

Started this game recently. One of the best games I EVER played. Been playing games since the late 70ies...

Some time has passed...

I love the grappling hook tongue on the white lizard.

i'd love a mod that makes rain world more like the early stuff, kind of like the dark and gritty half life 2 beta mods

many people say the game artstyle has changed a lot in comparison, but i dont think so, just the aesthetics.

the game as it is currently is intriguing and so beautiful, in its mechanics, environment and ecosystem. and the yearly versions are very interesting as well.
