From what I’ve read online, I think she only started taking professional vocal lessons maybe a year and a half ago. Definitely someone who was gifted with a natural talent and incredible voice

She runs on treadmill while singing to practice and prepare her voice for her live shows. 💜💙

She took the key down a bit for this performance, but I can respect that! She values the live sound and makes sure that she’s able to give her best vocals and playing with the key is smart! She sounds great

I'm friends with her vocal coach in Missouri and she sings chapel's praises as a student all the time. She's so proud of her

she hit that note a second time just because she could

When I saw her live, it was absolutely magical as you heard the audience go from every soul at the concert hitting the beginning of "so" with her, a first wave of people running out of breath while the singers in the audience held on, and then a second wave of audience running out of breath until the only voice left was Chappell's, unwavering.

I'm so happy to see you guys say what you did about today's music. Im 50 years old and have spent my whole life being obsessed by musical artists. A lot of my peers swear that great music isn't being made anymore but IT IS! The trick is to just let go of thinking nostalgia equals the best. Chappell, Billie, Finneas, Taylor and Harry may not be the soundtrack to my youth but their art is still an amazing soundtrack to my current life. I think there is exceptional young talent out there and Chappell is one of the best.

I describe her as the child of Lauper and lady Gaga to people that don’t know her music

It’s an amazing song but the I TOLD YOU SO absolutely kicks it into the godsphere

the way you guys are so excited about her is cool as hell

The VMA version omg the full armor and production of it all!

No self-control, me sees Chappell Roan, me clicks. 🧌

You might check out her performance on the Stephen Colbert show, where she does Red Wine Supernova. That is similar to this in terms of its power.

Sabrina Carpenter had covered this song live for her BBC Live Lounge session a few days before this Fallon Performance. I liked her version of the song so when I noticed that Chappell was on Fallon a few days later I decided to watch. I was so happy I did. This introduced me to Chappell and got me very interested. The next thing I watched was the Tiny Desk and she immediately became my favorite current artist.

I love how much you guys love her cause I'm a 61 year old metalhead and I can't get enough of her!!!

This is dream-pop come to the mainstream. That incredible chorus has a similar quasi-religious chant quality of The Cocteau Twins' music, especially their song "Pitch The Baby." The bouncy synth heavy rhythm section recalls Amy Grant's "Baby Baby." What a combination! With a meaningful theme and lyrics that are personal to the singer, sung with such heart, this song just wins.

This was first ever Chappel Roan introduction, seeing that YouTube clip on Tonight Show.  Twice people said you should check her out and that high note twice I Told You So, was amazing

Plenty of youtubers are knowledgeable or interesting, but you guys are also naturally hilarious. No quick cuts needed.

If you dig 80's music you need to check out Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl. It makes my GenX heart pitter pat. And she is very deliberate with her costume choices. Her interview costume was the black swan and here she is the white swan.
