This video was my introduction to her, and her album has been the soundtrack of the rest of my 2024. It’s an absolute JOY to watch other people react to it as their own introduction to her, so thank you 💕

One of my favorite things about this video specifically (all her live performances are amazing lol) is her vamping between songs. It’s intentionalIy done- I forget when it is, but you can hear her ask if the guitarist is done tuning at one point- she was using her persona to prevent dead air while her instrumentalists prepared.

Also, pulling up her album IMMEDIATELY after is so real 😂

It’s called a vocal flip and she’s truly a master

It's a vocal flip, sudden transition between the different registers of the voice, from chest voice to head voice, falsetto, even between octaves. It's sometimes called a yodel and Chappell does it absolutely flawlessly. She's the only person I've ever heard who can do sexy yodeling.

This was pure drag persona. I think "Red Wine Supernova SHOULD be her biggest song, but I think that's either "Pink Pony Club" or "HOTTOGO!" ("Good Luck Babe" wasn't released yet).

No self-control, me sees Chappell Roan, me clicks 🧌

Yes Chappell is a drag persona/ character (hence the giant wig with the cigarette butts stuck in it and the lipstick intentionally on the teeth) lmao; loved your reactions to this set! Would love to see you react to her album if you have the chance too or any of her other live performances or MVs 💗

Chappell!!! Our queer icon. I’m so proud of her ! She’s worked so damn hard for so many years to be where she’s at now. So talented and a good person. ❤

She's originally from Missouri thus the album title 'The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess'.  Best album I've heard in ages and I'm old!   Love, love LOVE CHAPPELL ROAN!  Her live performances are sooo good!  Love watching others enjoy her as much as I do. 🎉❤🎶

When i first watched, I asked myself that question.... is she playing a character? Based on what I've seen since, I'd say yes.  It's brilliant.

She is a superstar! I've been fortunate enough to see her twice now live and she is just extraordinary!! Super proud of my fellow Missourian and Midwest Princess Chappell Roan!!☺️🙏♥️Fantastic reaction my friend!👍

It’s a vocal flip, and she does it so well. She flips between head voice (falsetto) and chest voice (natural singing). It’s sort of like a mini yodel.

The character that is Chappell Roan is very much drag inspired. The lipstick on the teeth, the messy wig with cigarette butts are a contrast to the pretty dress, the crown, and all the butterfly accents.

"she is a diva " lmfao

Chappell Roan is her stage/drag name (yes she’s born female) to her irl

Cool reaction, definitely check out her newer single Good Luck Babe too…I think that song taking off is what helped her blow up.

you will be loving the guitar solo in pink pony club ( where u say the violin is this how it sounds )

Pink Pony Club has electric guitar solos in place of the violin solos on her record and in other concerts. The violin and cello were special additions to her band for this performance. This concert was my introduction to Chappell last June and I’ve been obsessed with her music and personality since.

You can watch her many video shorts before she blew up, she is just talking to her fans at the time small band of loyal followers.  She is playing a character but she is quirky, campy (silly), and fierce about real issues in the world.  I am a huge fan of hers since the early summer 2024 as a straight male 51 yr old.  80's vibes for sure.

Are you gonna post the album reaction here, too? Because I'm all the way down for that, you're gonna dig it so much!

She’s something special. I’ve watched this too many times to count. Enjoyed watching your reaction.

maybe the best singer i have ever heard in my 44 years
