In the Netherlands, there are families who took over maintaining Canadian military graves, and they pass down this responsiblity for specific graves within their families. Very touching devotion.

Most of EU did not forget about Canada and are them forever thankful. As someone who went to Afghanistan and fought beside Canadian soldiers i will always have huge respect for Canadians. Some of the nicest guys i ever meet.

In Canada, when it comes our education in History, we are taught, not only Canadian history, but world history as well 😊

Canadians can be your best friends....or your worst enemies. We have a lot of friends....take note (please).

Not only did Canada liberate the Netherlands during WWII we also provided refuge for some of the Dutch royal family during the war. Dutch princess Margriet was born in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada during the war. The ward of the hospital where she was born was declared extraterritorial so that she kept full Dutch citizenship and kept her position in line to the Dutch royal throne.

They also failed to mention at the end of that video, Elite snipers. Canada has some of the best snipers in the world with extreme precision over very long distances.

JTF2     Is Joint Task Force 2.  We are fierce and unpredictable in war. The mindset is " We didn't start it" but the sooner we finish it the sooner we get home.

As Canadians, we don't overcome our stereotypes, we live up to them..

as a Canadian I can say there is a high school named after Louis riel

“It’s never a war crime the first time”                                         -Canada

Canadians in time of peace: I'm sorry
Canadians when they go to war: You will be sorry

This failed to mention that Canada during the Korean War at the battle of Kapyong pulled off one of the greatest last stands in the history of warfare. Before the battle began US mortar companies fled without orders the incoming Chinese onslaught, abandoning their allies, and never fired a shot in support.

Most of the stuff on the Geneva convention is on there from Canadian troops

Tyler, in actual fact, the Whitehouse was not burnt down, it was torched but not destroyed. The reason the Whitehouse was attacked was earlier on American forces bombed and burnt York (Toronto). 🇨🇦 I must say the Australian education system in the 1950s was excellent. Before grade 9, we had learnt not only Australian history but that of England, Canada, America and France. America is one eyed, it can’t or won’t teach any history but American. Pity.

You know Tyler thank you for showing these videos and educating USA and probably a lot of Canadians the contributions, sacrifices, bravery, skills, spirit, pride, of the people of Canada.  It has brought tears to my eyes the pride I feel for our nation.  My grandfather at 18 years old fought in Pashendale in the muddy, cold trenches.  It’s unimaginable what he endured.  We are respected and recognized around the world for our humanitarian, military, peacekeeping efforts, contributions to innovative ideas etc. etc. It’s extremely hurtful to hear comments coming from the south of us “What did Canada ever do”?  It’s about time they found out and give us the respect we deserve.  I love my country and will never forget the sacrifices made for me to live in the most wonderful, beautiful country.  You know we will always be there in times of need!  Elbows up Canada!   Heads high!  🇨🇦🇨🇦🍁💪❤❤

Tyler. I want to point out one thing. With all we’ve done militarily around the world. (And a few things weren’t mentioned.) The one thing we’ve never done is “start” a war with any other nation.

I lived in Steyning, Sussex, for most of my life, and Canada was very much a part of my life even then: Wiston House, a few miles to the west, was the Canadian Armed Forces HQ during WW2. They built (metalled) the road over the South Downs from Steyning to Lancing, and one of the valleys adjoining that road is named Canada Bottom. I used to work for BAE at Dunsfold Airfield, which was built during the same period by the Canadian Army and later became the BBC's Top Gear test track. Now I live in Canada, and relish the historical links we share.

I have a great uncle who survived vimy ridge. He was shot in the stomach, came home and died of cancer that developed in his wound. He was my favorite uncle.😢

My grandfather's eldest brother died leading a charge at Vimy Ridge. I was really proud when my eldest niece became the first of our family to visit the gravesite Vimy Ridge Memorial a few years ago with her Girl Guide unit. The war had a disastrous impact on our family & we will always remember the members we lost to war.

As a Canadian I am so happy that we had to learn about many, many countries.  Canadian are aware that there are other cultures, peoples and traditions.
