The character of Pennywise is one of the most iconic and terrifying horror villains of the 21st century. A clown that gave an entire generation of kids and even adult nightmares for life. But behind it is actually a really chill guy from Sweden and an intensely passionate actor. Bill Skarsgard is often referred to as "the hot clown" and has been practicing scary faces ever since he was young. Pennywise was just the first time the world got to see it. Coming from a family of incredible actors, acting was a natural thing for Bill. But in order to find out why Pennywise became so iconic, we need to know more about the man behind the clown.

Edit: I would like everyone to please note I never said he was the best. I simply said he was giving a performance that is one you would never forget. Each rendition of a tale should never be the same. It should have its own flare, that's why they it's a rendition. When I say he fits Pennywise how Heath Ledger fits the joker, it means that just hits different. Tim Curry is Tim Curry. Top tier and amazing. Hence there has been far and few renditions. However, when you say Tim Curry, he has so many roles that he has done so well, he is not only known for something. Heath Ledger has other films, many people know, love, and recognise them, however his rendition of the Joker just...... it hits. The moment you say Joker, his version is what I think. It doesn't mean I don't think of the others, it just means his version is instinct. As if you could easily blur the line between actor and character. This man, this Pennywise..... for me is the same. I feel like for me, I do not need to say his name to think of him or Pennywise. As for Tim Curry..... I feel like a zoom of images flash through because he is everything he plays. Like Johnny Depp. Like Robin Williams. They are people in a different category. Idk if this makes sense?
