Stopping trade to save money is like stopping your watch to save time.

Trump has said repeatedly he needs nothing from Canada. So fine. Canada is moving on.

The President of the United States is a Russian asset. Why is this not the biggest news story in American history?

I am German and I work for a large German bank. We are about to purchase a LARGE IT-solution. We will UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCE buy American.

Canada just got out of a toxic relationship! Proud of Canada 🇨🇦 Europe is welcoming you.

I’m morbidly curious to see what happens once the US alienates itself completely

Thank you from Canada.
They elected him twice.
TWICE.
We got the message...

As a Canadian, I remain deeply grateful for the friendships I have formed and the wonderful memories I have gathered in the United States. Yet goodwill between neighbours cannot be sustained indefinitely when it is met with threats and declarations of hostility. President Trump’s latest remarks make Prime Minister Carney’s rapprochement with the European Union appear not merely desirable, but increasingly necessary. Indeed, I have already refrained from purchasing American products for more than a year, and these latest declarations give me no reason to reconsider that decision.

I remember a reporter asking Trump, what does he think Canada will do? Trump reply was to say, we don't have to worry about Canada, they do whatever we tell them to do. So that tells you what Trump thinks and what he wants.  It would have cost less to have supported Ukraine than start an unnecessary war with Iran.

50% tariffs on Canada, 0 tariffs on Russia....  this is okay with Americans??

Trump F's up EVERYTHING he's associated with.  It's just gonna get worse

I've said this before: It's not a trade war, it's a Special Economic Operation....

So many women recognize the US-CAN relationship as abusive. Abusers abuse then control by trying to cut off and isolate their target.

Trump sent negotiators to Canada to demand (in part) that we stop trading with anyone else. Of course he's infuriated that we're only accelerating the pursuit of trading options elsewhere. Canada isn't going to stop trading with the US unless Trump actually cuts off trade - which would be an absolute disaster for Americans. He's just throwing tantrums because he's being ignored.

He's just not prepared to listen to people who have the knowledge.
He thinks that he's the smartest person around.
The consequences are beginning to come home to America. About time, they deserve it.

Trump said he doesn't need Canada for anything. So we're moving on. Playing the field. Dating new people. Exciting times

Trump initiated hostility towards Canada first.

i was and still am absolutely giddy over the news about the eu's invitation to canada. saying this as a u.s. citizen and minnesotan.

Trump said numerous times he doesn’t need anything from Canada. Yet he can’t stomach Canada signing new deals with other countries. If you don’t need anything from Canada you wouldn’t be rattled by Canada signing deals with other countries.

The U.S. is 90 mins from my front door and I haven't been there in years. Pundits and wonks insist that Canada and the U.S. are cherished friends, neighbours, inextricably bound by geography. Pardon? I'm not twelve. Personifying commodities trading doesn't work on me. Be well. Good luck. Up here in Canada, we get on with it. The future is Europe now, and I can't wait to explore it. Cheers.
