We're taking on a big garden project... a makeover! After living with our garden for a while (and hearing great comments from our incredible gardening community on Youtube) we've decided that the layout just isn't working as well as we'd like — so we're completely rethinking some of our established perennial flower beds.
The biggest change is adding a new stone path through our widest flower bed, creating a walking route through the garden and dividing one huge border into more manageable planting areas.
We're also moving and dividing perennials, completely rearranging several flower beds, moving hydrangeas, digging up and relocating a massive lacecap hydrangea, and even moving our raised beds to a much sunnier position.
It's a big job, and we're not quite sure how everything will look when we're finished... but that's part of the fun!
In this garden renovation, we're tackling:
• Redesigning an established perennial garden
• Adding a new walking path
• Moving and dividing perennials
• Completely rearranging existing flower borders
• Moving our raised garden beds to get more sunshine
• Rethinking the layout of our cottage garden
• Creating a garden that works better for us and the plants
If you're thinking about renovating an established garden, redesigning flower beds, moving perennials, or adding a garden path, come along as we begin this big transformation.
This is just the beginning. We'll follow the garden as it develops and see whether all this upheaval was worth it... we think it will be :)
