Something I on;y just realised is how much Jon Bernthal's Punisher sounds like Matt's dad in the flash backs. Like, the cadence, the accent, the tone of voice. It adds a whole new subtle layer to their dynamic.

Another GREAT thing about Daredevil is when Russians really do speak russian. Without an accent, in most cases. And at the end, Vladimir sings one of the most famous Russian war songs about tank crews and their final battle. I was impressed by this as a Russian.

This is entirely headcanon but one of the reasons I think Ben uses playing cards for his murder board instead of sticky notes, pictures, etc. is that if he's not in the office he can collapse the whole thing down into a pack of cards. We know he's gotten on the wrong side of many powerful people before and I think being able to hide his notes in plain sight like that would be a reasonable thing he'd come up with.

One thing I really loved is how Jack's call in the flashback makes a lot more sense when you realize he's talking to Sister Maggie, the mother of his son. He knows he's about to die, and that he can trust Maggie with Matt if anything happens to him. I also love how it's Carl "Crusher" Creel who's the one Battlin' Jack Murdock refuses to throw against, costing him his life, as it opens one of two possibilities:
a). Crusher Creel was already the Absorbing Man, and was using his ability to turn into any material he touches to cheat, and Battlin' Jack Murdock still won anyways.
b). Being defeated by Battlin' Jack Murdock, who decided to go off-script wounded Crusher Creel's ego, causing him to sign up for becoming the Absorbing Man.

Great to see the long version of this Mr. TVWins.

Can't wait for the other seasons of Daredevil to become long form too.

A headcanon I have is that the reason Matt goes to ask forgiveness for what he’s about to do is because he’s not entirely sure he’ll survive the encounter. He’s a great fighter, but in theory he’s never fought that many people yet, so I think he believes he’s not going to survive the encounter and won’t have another chance to ask for forgiveness.

Foggy is supposedly super awkward with women but the truth is his interaction with Karen in episode 2 is top tier game. He's playful and funny while making slightly suggestive contents about the both of them. Basically the definition of flirtation. 10/10

@28:00 and what I just realised: Vanessa sells impressionist paintings. Fisk chose the rabbit in the snow storm, Matt sees the world on fire. The painting behind Vanessa was a blazing red and an orange painitng. Not sure if it's intentional, but seems like there's a contrasting metaphor there

I would watch the whole show again if it had the aspect ratio.

S1 is still top for me. I love how dirty and noir new York looks and how scary Fisk is here, hell they don't even dare speak his name like he's some mafia Voldemort

Just when I'm like "yeah, Daredevil Born Again Season 2 is pretty good!" this comes along and just completely annihilates any idea that it's even 1/4 as good as the original series...

0:47 Speak softly, and carry an extendable stick. 😂

Have to say that it being the whole season 1 makes, boy I could kiss you.

@50:40 the fact that Stone was never paid off is one of the most frustrating things about MCU takeover

1:26:30 I'm surprised you didn't bring up how heavily Ben implies that he's figured out who Matt is in this conversation.

58:51 I understand why it would seem obvious to us as the audience because daredevil is kind of framed like the only vigilante in the city, but you could easily say the same thing about Spider-man whose suit has eyes but they're completely opaque from the outside

1:18:09 I believe that it's Matt's drive to do the most good. I mean - his entire inciting incident was saving someone, his entire career path focused on defending the innocent. As much as Matt might try to walk away from the Mask, unless he can see a path where Daredevil doesn't do the most amount of good, he'll never truly be able to set it down, and that's what Born Again is -- the culmination of that; he sets the Mask down because he believes he isn't doing the greatest amount of good with it anymore, and the second Fisk returns and he can't stop things as a lawyer anymore, the Mask comes back on, and Daredevil is Born Again.

awww hell yeah my show is on

Needed another win for the chilling and emotionally breaking music choice for Urich’s funeral.

I could rewatch Daredevil for the rest of my days and still be fulfilled with the emotions and the peak cinema it offers and I wouldnt need any other piece of media to consume 🙏
