The classiest Oscar speech ever. You can tell the whole audience in that room was in awe of him. Rest well, Peter O'Toole!

Don’t you just love how he holds the audience in the palm of his hand, as he gently and playfully and confidently delivers his words.
And what a voice. So rich, so warm, so attractive.

Peter O’Toole deserved an Oscar for simply being Peter O’ Toole.

RIP Peter O'Toole (August 2, 1932 – December 14, 2013), aged 81
You will be remembered as a legend.

Peter O'Toole made a short speech in which he remembered his past colleagues in the industry, praised the current generation of young actors and actresses, and thanked the United States for all the country had given him personally and professionally for more than 50 years. That is how you make acceptance speech!

You mean this legend never received an Oscar before? The man's sheer body of work is a testament to greatness itself.

What made him a truly legend is the fact that Peter O'Toole didn't need to win an Oscar to be recognized as one of the greatest actors of all time.

This is how the Oscars should be. Grace, class, and honor! Restore the Oscars!

I clicked on this video just to hear his voice

When stars were stars and full of class long gone.

This speech alone deserves an Oscar.

That speech had everything, Humour, humility, grace, nostalgia and perspective. Short and to the point. Absolutely
masterful.

His voice, man... the voice of a king.

This isn't a speech.  This is poetry.

I had the honor to meet him in Manhattan. I waited  outside the theater to see him. I wasn't at the show. I was alone. He wasn't afraid of me, and I wasn't afraid of him, one on one. It was a good day, no other fans around. God, he was amazing. He was flattering, and flirty, and humble - and he was beautiful,  so handsome. I am so sorry we lost him.

i still cant believe he didnt win best actor for Lawrence Of Arabia

That may be the most perfect Oscar speech ever given.  Short, heart felt, dignified, humorous, and well spoken.

Peter O'Toole had a voice you would enjoy listening to if he was reading you the instructional manual for a toaster oven.

His entrance with that magnificent Lawrence of Arabia theme..... nothing but goosebumps 😮❤

Streep's wittiness encountering O'Toole's wittiness. Truly two grand professionals, human beings gathering. A match had been done, finally.
