I will never forget a check for $30,000.00 that arrived at our orphanage in Mexico when it was most needed. Thank you, Mr. Sinatra. Thank you.

I was in the audience that night. I toured with Frank Sinatra for almost 14 years as his opening act and was with him for about for about a year at that time. Frank invited me and my then wife to the event. In those 14 years there were  take away moments just to numerous to count. This night stands out as one I knew I would never forget. In this room were the biggest stars in Hollywood who I had seen so many times in movies as a little boy growing up in Harvey, Illinois. When Richard Burton began to speak with that magnificent tone of voice a hush came over the room and many were brought to tears because of the content and delivery but also because they had been blessed by Frank's benevolence as well. Time and time again I witnessed his acts of kindness. As I have said so many times "Frank Sinatra wasn't a Saint but he sure did some saintly things" Rest in Peace dear friend. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of you.

Burtons voice was so magnificent.. so imposing..

In 2024, listening to this marvellous voice, I feel butterflies in my stomach. RIP Richard. It hurts my heart.

To think that this magnificent actor did not win an Oscar is a crying shame.

Class personified.

I am blown away.  There aren’t people like this in the entertainment industry anymore.  Absolutely stunning.

Burton commands your attention.! His deliverance is sublime.!

If Richard Burtons voice doesn’t move one, something is wrong way down inside of one.

I'm from Richard Burtons home town. Richard Burton used to work in the Coop in   Port Talbot as a young boy and on his way home after his shift, he used to stop and play marbles with my father and his brother who were kids at the time. What a man 💙

It's not just the mesmerising voice, it's the beautiful choice of words, the timing, the pauses, the intensity of the presentation. Perfect in every way. Two great men.

A man who could make even a birthday tribute sound like an epic Shakespearean soliloquy.

Frank Sinatra's 1983 letter to Richard Burton: "You moved me as no other man ever has. And I will be grateful to you every day of my life."

No one ever had a voice like Burton. Magnetic.

Let this speech be a marker for how we have as a race descended into mediocrity in the present world. The audience held its breath as Richard Burton spoke, and faces in the audience lit up with warmth and admiration for Frank Sinatra. Respect and Civility filled the air like few times before in that era of our memories, now sadly left behind. But not forgotten.  Let us hope, one day, we will again climb the stairs of Class and Dignity, so that the world will have another Richard Burton and another Frank Sinatra.

That level of class and dignity doesn’t exist in the entertainment industry anymore.

You can see Frank listening intently to every word his friend is saying because he respected him so much.

Miss this class of entertainment.   Now we have people who egos have gotten the best of them.

This is the greatest speech to honor any person ever. Two giants

That was a magnificent tribute. Two great men. Class acts. We shall never see the likes of them again. ❤
