We have 6 forwards, 7 if you count Eze, 8 if you count Merino. The crash out will happen because that's what our fanbase does. I think it was a very good window. What I think I learned is for us to sign the world class level of forward that the fanbase wants to sign takes 12-18 months of planning like the Rice signing or courting Zubimendi and maybe?
we haven't done that.

It’s funny that when it’s who’s better out of ODG and Bruno, it’s immediately.. his scored more, not who is actually just “better” loool

Odegaard tied the record for most non-penalty goals scored by a midfielder in the PL in 22/23. Don't remember exactly what happened that he didn't break it but most likely got injured at the end of the season knowing his track record. So, in that season, I think he was pretty comfortably the best 10 in the league.

I think the point everyone is saying on those LB signing comparisons is that of the signings we made in, Telles, Malacia, and Reguilon, all of them were signed to be a backup on a relatively cheap fee. We have not made a first choice LB signing with the point of Luke Shaw ending up on the bench that season. All of those other teams signed immediate first choice LBs.

This is something we did for years, sign players with the intent they are just backups instead of forcing out current starters. Which is something I won't knock Ineos for, almost all of their signings were at least moved starting 11 players to the bench

Part of selling involves not overpaying on salaries.

The PL is using English clubs to keep the inflation rate as high as possible

Historically, in sports, ages 28-32 are the prime years. The fact that there are more world champions and Olympic champions older than 32 tells me that the "prime years" have shifted beyond 32 years old

@joeparas 4 weeks ago

It's not a coincidence that the clubs who sell big are shady af (City) or have their players on too-low salaries, making structuring the purchasing package much more pallatable.

Arsenal, United, Liverpool have to deal with this.

Arsenal 2-0 Chelsea

The problem with that United plan is that is hopeful and unrealistic. United hasn’t shown anything from the top down to prove that they could win the league in the next year. They’re literally selling dreams at the theatre of dreams.

Consistency comes with time. I am an Arsenal fan, but I am surprised that everyone has written United off. They haven't changed much, they have suffered together. That time and consistency in all sports builds a glue. You can't buy a title. I see United doing alright you know. City and Chelsea have brought a lot of great players but when we get to squeaky bum time, it's the teams that have players that have had time together, that know each other's temperaments and characters that will be tough to beat. I am think we will do it again, but I think too many people have written United off. As a team, they have suffered together, much like us, that time has currency

cundy is on the windup

Bruno has been outrageously consistent since he's been in the league

its not even a question, bruno is vastly superior to odegard

bruno is gonna be 31.. so over the next 1-3 seasons the likes of palmer and/or cherki could over take him

but right now and over the past years he's the best. he's the haaland of cams/no 10's. . doesn't matter if u don't like his aesthetics his numbers and match winning doesn't lie

The only 2nd Spurs are getting is 2nd half of the table

@ItsWin22 4 weeks ago

13:47 just the LEFT wing!!! That’s the only place we’re kinda short. Although seems like eze will play there a bit. Maybe Kai could if worst comes to worst

Terry I get your take on Bruno, I personally think he’s a crazy good Player and as an Arsenal fan I was not upset he won the player of the season. But do you never question why a team consistently challenging for the league either here or abroad has never come for him as the best in class. There surly should be a queue for him if he was best in class, regardless if United wanted to sell, the Reals, Barcelona, Bayerns of this world should be fighting for him, what about him do you think puts them off? I guess the point I’m making here is, as talented as he is why is he not in a top level team, is that level of talent and the freedom it requires not able to be accommodated in a team challenging year in year out?

@KeepingItReal421 4 weeks ago

Not angry with the plan, but everyone is missing that they just TOLD us we are only spending another 120m next summer. “Exceeding 500m”… how arw we rebuilding a title winning defense for 120m and there is no chance of doing that with Lewis Hall. 5:27

@petermcclenaghan5199 4 weeks ago

The thing with Bruno isn't what he creates. It's the other issues with his perceived attitude and when things get tough he disappears. That creates a perception around him that is, like it or not, more negative than positive. Very good player, and maybe he has finally grown up.

@colinstephens3376 3 weeks ago

If we'd put a good official bid in for Vini Jr, then Madrid might have thought twice about giving him an improved contract. Money talks.

@HowwYouKnoww 4 weeks ago

Everyone says just spend the money, stop being a tight ass. Yet people also acknowledge Arsenal didn't just spend the big bucks on Mudryk and were being a tight ass and getting Trossard instead but that's one of the key decisions that brought the title back to North London
