Achilles - Lost to Injury
Samson - Lost to Baldness
Beowulf - Lost to Goon

Angelina Jolie was also in Shark Tale. Think about it.

Here's the thing: The idea was pitched to Zemeckis as "complete freedom for camera movement because you don't have to think about the physical placing of a bulky camera" and "think of the craziest stuff in the world because no matter what you write, it's gonna cost a flat million per minute." It might not be successful, but I absolutely see the allure in making it.

to be fair, old english might as well be a fantasy language

You: Shrek
Me: Skyrim

A wulf named Beo.

This entire movie feels like I’m back at English class reading the book and analyzing all of it with my teacher

Beowulf may be strange CGI, but I could never call it slop.  It was awesome

This version of Grendel is exactly what I picture when I hear that Carter Vail song that goes “keep a little dirt under my pillow for the dirt man.”

One time I went to a bar on a busy Friday night and this movie was playing on every single TV

I saw this in theaters, lol.
Everyone was still rock-hard for 300 at the time, so movies like this and that shitty Clash of the Titans remake were popping off.

this movie is really asking the real philosophical questions...to goon or not to goon... it really so beautifully written that me, a female,  is still wondering if its worth keeping internet to keep watching things like this...

"BEEEOOOOW-"
Dives

9:30 - thats how you can tell this movie was 'post-300'...for the next chunk of time after that film, its like Everyone had to have their own "THIS! IS!! SPARTA!!!" line...

Back in high school, my teacher made us read the original tale of Beowulf, and I loved it so much. He then mentioned there was a movie, and I excitedly ask for us to see it in class. He looked at me the same way Beowulf in the movie looked like when he got that crown, lmao. He hated it so much he tried gatekeeping the movie for a few minutes until I convinced him to make the class watch it…

…nobody liked it…

3:13 Except that's not a fantasy language, it's Old English.

this is the movie of all time

Dude I watched this movie in a high school English class. It was very uncomfortable.

I watched the first scene on tv when I was like 10 or 11 and turned it off the second the monster showed up because it scared me shitless... Still had nightmares for weeks.

The fact that I still remember that so vividly speaks of great trauma xD

When this movie first came out, I remember hating it specifically for the graphics. All this time later and they still look jarring to me and I hate it
