The movie was filmed in Spain. Some supporting actors, like young Conan and Conan's mother, as well as the extras, were Spanish! It is a movie with a lot of soul and artistic value. It captures ancient beliefs in a very honest way. Great reaction! The girl on the right is very attractive!

You picked up on the "sons of Aryas" refererence, and yes, it is a referring to the Aryan peoples  of the Vedic Indian and Iranian religions. Conan's character is a mix of Celtic and Cimmerian meant to serve as a rough representation of the Indo-Europeans who would migrate out of the Pontic Steppe by the Black Sea - those who went west would become the European peoples while those that went east would become the Aryans of Iran and India.

The soundtrack/Score tells a story by itself.

14:50 "Lamentation of the women" refers to women wailing and crying in grief.

Because Valeria died in battle, she became a Valkyrie.  They are the god Thor's handmaidens: fierce warriors who ride winged horses on the cold winds of Valhalah.

I love your new movie channel!  You two are the most beautiful reactors on YouTube!  Thanks for reacting to such a great movie.

By Crom this is gonna be good!

ROBERT E. HOWARD. ONE OF THE GREATEST AUTHORS IN AMERICAN HISTORY!!!!! ALSO, SO VERY UNDERRATED.......
GREAT REACTION LADIES.....FOREVER DIG YOUR STUFF!!!!

48:04 from "Aaaahhhh!" to "football" in about 3 seconds.

Conan the Barbarian in this film bears striking similarities to the concept of the "Übermensch" described by the philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche. First, there is the will to power and self-affirmation: Conan is the embodiment of the will to power; he doesn't seek the moral validation of society, but rather asserts his existence through action, strength, and conquest. He is guided by his own desire and inner strength to shape his destiny. Second, there is the transvaluation of values: Like the "Übermensch," Conan operates outside of conventional "civilized" morality. He creates his own morality, centered on personal honor, strength, and loyalty, disregarding the norms of the weak. Then there is the famous phrase "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger": This quote from Nietzsche is central to the 1982 film. Conan personifies this resilience, transforming suffering into glory and strength. Later, ahistorical existence: Conan lives in the present, without the burdens of the past or worries about the future, which aligns with Nietzsche's idea of the fully living individual. And finally, the "Death of God" and Self-Reliance: Although Conan respects his god Crom, he knows he will not help him, so he relies solely on his own strength and steel, reflecting the autonomy of the "superman" in a world without values.

Subotai is The Best Friend, Ever 🥺

The soundtrack will always crush all the enemies and see them driven before you

Thulsa Doom is played by none other than Darth Vader and Mufasa himself... James Earl Jones.  RIP to a legend!!

The soundtrack by Basil Poledouris... one of the best scores ever.

FYI, that wasn't Crom's sword in the first tomb he fell into.  Crom is Conan's god, so when he says "Crom" it's like someone today saying "Oh God" or "Jesus" (if you're Christian).  It's an exclamation of great surprise or importance.

The opening music gives me chills.

Subotai was played by Gerry Lopez, a champion surfer.  The wizard (narrator) was played by Mako, a popular character actor.  The king was played by Max von Sydow.  Sandahl Bergman (Valeria) was about thirty when she played this role.  Thorgrim was played by Sven-Ole Thorsen, Arnold's friend from his bodybuilder days.

Terminator vs Darth Vader

THATS IT!!!! Conan is missing a good old fashioned Bollywood song and dance in the middle of the show.

The Riddle of Steel is one’s will. Connan realized this when he faced Thulsa Doom for the last time. He saw his father’s faith in steel shatter when he broke his father’s sword.

He realized Doom’s faith in flesh was flawed as his followers fell before Connan and Subutai, and then Connan ultimately realized that he had the will to live his life after Doom, the entire reason he had endured countless years of suffering just to survive to get revenge, was gone.
