I just wanna exist…

Aww thanks for making this video. I feel like even in queer spaces you bring this up there's like a 50/50 someone's going to take offense to it. It sucks, I don't totally understand why it is that people find the idea so threatening.

Ah, the "gay men living as women" thing.  That one makes zero sense either.  I'm a lesbian.

I was working on my car the other day and a man passing by literally said to me "damn my wife don't even take out garbage" and I was like yeah it's affirming but what kind of misogyny crap is this. People sometimes don't realize but misogyny/misandry, wether cis- or trans- is everywhere and they don't realize they are being misogynistic

Reminds me of a quote I heard a while back, unfortunately I don’t remember where exactly I heard it:
“The transfem experience is sacrificing your privilege on the altar of authenticity.”

I gotta say I was not prepared for the intersectional transmisogyny MSPaint graph but yeah that's a really good breakdown.

As always much love and keep on keeping on!

Thanks for talking about this!  I am a trans man and have heard this phrase before and sort of knew what it meant but this video really helped me get a clearer picture of what transmisogyny is.

As a trans-man, I appreciate your coverage of this topic.  Trans-women are currently in the spotlight, but it won't be long until bigots figure out that we exist, too, and when that happens, we're going to need all the help we can get, too.

"Trans woman are the woman of the trans community" I hate that this makes sense.

To all those who are struggling with dysphoria, you are valid and loved.   Don't lose hope and know that there is someone who cares!

I think one of the most gender affirming things I experienced after socially transitioning was having men talk over me, and repeat what I said back to me like they were correcting me,
It fucking sucked, realizing that this is what womanhood feels like from a first person perspective.
Trans men do still deal with misogyny through initialization, but it's a different aspect than you overt hatred that trans women get.
Trans men are ignored, which is bad. Trans women are treated like monsters.

This reminds me a lot of how hereditary nobility has functioned in virtually every society that has practiced it.  Beyond it being patriarchal, with male nobles being valued above female nobles, if someone of the noble class were to consort with the common people they'd get persecuted by the other nobility.  It was like "why would you lower yourself, why would stoop to such lows as to consort with a commoner" It's feels like the misogynistic men of today still view themselves as some sort of noble class who are superior to women simply by birth.

The idea of us being "Failed gay men" is quite funny because it's clear they choose to ignore the existence of transbians or bi transfems, arguments like that only work when you switch you brain off and blindly follow the loudest voice because anyone who sat and thought about it would be able to make those arguments easily fall apart.
The "predator" one is also amusing to me because I hate public bathrooms, I think they're often gross and incredibly unmaintained and I do my best to avoid using them, being afraid of transphobes is a secondary thought for me when it comes to public bathrooms because my personal biggest fear is none of the stalls having toilet paper because someone's kid decided to play "mummy" with it all.
Unrelated but I feel bad for janitors.

we got a whole other issue if someone out there genuinely believes we specifically do it to be abused...

If trans women were homophobic gay men...

They wouldn't be trans women, they'd be clergy and/or Republican politicians.

being a woman makes me so happy, I was such an unhappy man for so long and the idea of feminine things being "lesser" is such bullshit.

To quote the Tumblr post I made on this: "...Now, I'm not a trans woman, but because I am fem presenting, even as I am transitioning masc, I can say for a fact that it affects transmen and cis men who are gay or fem presenting (femboys), and certain people under the NB umbrella who present fem in some capacity.

YOU DO NOT have to identify as a woman for this to happen to you. Feminine and gay men have had this shit happen to them for decades, transwomen DEFINITELY experience it because they are lumped in with feminine and gay men, and NB people in general are seen as "special snowflakes", so it happens to them too.

Misogyny isn't JUST prejudice against women. It's prejudice against femininity, PERIOD. Misogyny is a product of toxic masculinity and societal gender roles, and it needs to stop."

12:48 you end this on such a high note and the most important point, that trans women value womanhood so highly, we do not view it as a downgrade, far from it!   A lot of this is stymied by internalized misogyny tho, if we draw the parallel between emotional abuse survivors who later in life cannot accept a compliment, the obvious “compliment” we offer (whatever happened to the phrase “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery”?) by pursuing our feminine truth in full view for all to see should land better.  How can we say it more? I have chemically changed my body to be like you.  Doesnt that mean anything?

our society has gotten by on the ignorance of how our actions affect one another broadly, with the internet, ai, global corporate oligarchy, thats gone. People who got by being mildly evil now cause their damage knowing more and affecting more, and are scared of changing their ways because they never had to before. We're litterally being filtered into good and evil where people could be in the middle and still be good people, it's disappearing. Doesn't matter though, under no circumstances should a tent be cast big enough to allow rampant evil. We have to fight them.

We need more class consciousness in this place
