If those dividers are acrylic you should take them out and drill holes in them so that the entire tank gets filtered and your clean up crew are liable to be eaten. Also they both need to be conditioned so that they are both ready to breed, and both your fish look too immature for breeding. The female especially as she doesn’t have an ovipositor visible. Frozen foods will help them be conditioned to breed. Good luck with future attempts.

bella wasn’t ready for breeding, she had no eggs to lay. her belly will be round & you should clearly be able to see a “white ovipositor spot” / a small white spot between her front fins.
if you leave her in the side she can see him in, she should get those eggs pretty quickly and be ready :))

I have done betta breeds before. One time accidentally. When/if you try again trying leaving them over night. If you are not comfortable doing that then turn the tank light off. I find that the mating process goes by a lot faster/smoother that way

Thanks whoever get the tank to him😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤

Quarantine and condition.

Hi! I'm from phillippines and i breed Bettas for 2 years and I breed so many Bettas. If ur Betta chasing the female it's normal bc the male wants to mate but the female wont. Don't seperate them yet bc the female is not ready. Like 2 days or 1 just wait (trust me. also im just a kid😅)

Dang Sam aggressive fr fr

"Almost fully cycled" and "Its been one week" do not belong in the same sentencs

It’s not just about the male, you need to check the female is ready as well, she didn’t have any eggs built up

15:59 is so good

Can u make more shrimp videos please

Thank you for sharing.

Watching this video 10th time with out a skip❤️

loving these bro

I think you should do it with a less aggressive betta

1:24 the first divider being very crooked pisses me off djdd

I’ve been waiting so long for this video

I tossed in a male and female betta.  He chased her around for a couple of days, and then they mated.  He’s now brooding his nest.  After they mated he chased her around for a day.  Then she decided she wasn’t afraid of him and began to face off and flare at him.  Today they’ve been swimming side by side all day flapping their fins and flaring like a married couple.  Don’t always believe everything you hear.  Give it a chance and see how it goes for a week.  Betas shouldn’t be kept alone.  They are also tankmates with 4 mini guppies that don’t get bigger than an inch and a salt and pepper Cory.  The betas ignore them.  Your female beta is a wild hybrid, BTW.   She swims like a Smargardina and has the same streamlined fins.  Some breeder crossed the domestic breeds with a wild breed at some point in her history.  Also the reason she didn’t mate with him is she didn’t have eggs.  It takes a few days together before she starts producing eggs.  You will see her stomach begin to swell and an egg spot shows up beneath.

1 you have to be way more patient with the process 2 make sure the female has eaten lots of protein so she has eggs and 3 the male should have a nest and looks genuinely interested in the female in a showing of his colors not trying to bite her through the divider. Then after all of that then you can try putting the female in with the female. Patients is key

Cool betta
