OKAY, I need to do a pinned clarifying comment here because I used some admittedly poor phrasing in one line of this video - When talking about the subset of Vex who split off from the collective and became independent, I said they weren't "elaborated on." When I said "elaborated on" I meant that the plot didn't really GO anywhere, and we don't know much about the Tharsis Reformation or how/if they affect the story and world. I should have said that more clearly. We do know WHY they exist (at least generally) - it has to do with alterations to the Vex network made by the Conductor in the later years of the story. And as I said at the end, this video was so packed as it is I had to skim Conductor stuff for the sake of time, which is why I didn't go into it. That aside, the Tharsis Reformation specifically were in one expansion where they were, at most, tertiary characters that were rule of cool for sure. They're Vex who wear jackets and have a gambling addiction. They're fun, but not lore relevant and a wild thing to include, which is why I said they weren't elaborated.

For some reason, this one specific issue has gotten me some of the rudest comments I've EVER seen on the channel. I'll admit my phrasing was vague but either way, chill, guys.

Corridors of Time only existed to bring back Saint and then was never mentioned again lmao

I bet at least 1 guardian canonically died trying to drink the Vex Fluid just for the sheer curiosity to know how it tastes

"Part 6 of..."

Crazy that the internet has managed to ruin counting lmaooooooo

Lucky for him that the vex barely have any characters. Means he can spend more time trying to explain the not-time travel lol

I'm sorry, so you're telling me the 4 years I was playing Destiny as an Exo Titan I was selling my loot trash to basically my dad?

Oh but when I extrapolate possible outcomes, people just call it "anxiety"😂

So Vex are krill that decided to show the universe who is the best. They created mecha suits, mastered science as a whole and developed a way to plan every single move by running simulations of the whole universe and the future. They are older than the universe itself, which is around 14 billion years old and every vex is as inteligent as the whole species. They can be as small as a puddle in the ground, or large as the core of a planet.

And they can't beat my silly level 1 hunter because big ball in the sky lets me break reality.

Imagine how frustrating that must be for them.

I’ve been looking forward to this one the most, mostly based on how they were described as “time travelling robots… who can’t time travel and aren’t robots” back in the first video :D

For what it's worth, this video was actually the first one recommended to me by Youtube. And now...I'm gonna go watch the others.

Also a note: the clothes-wearing Vex were only able to break off from the Network because of a rogue ishtar collective researcher who got a hold of a paracausal artifact and was trying her best to avoid doomed yuri with her wife but then it ended up with her killing many of her wife's simulated copies who were still people in their own right and aaaaaagh the Conductor's lore was such a missed opportunity

But at least it gave me my precious tharsis reformation Vex who love wearing clothes and doing crime and gambling.

Lore note: The black heart DOES succeed in other timelines, which causes everyone to turn evil and causes a super-duper apocalypse, which is only able to be stopped by a time-traveling robot girl after 16(?) attempts, who says to us "I don't have time to explain why I don't have to explain".

Lmao I just got to that part in the video

She Vex on my Hydra until I Radiolarian fluid.

Sidenote on Banshee-44 and the whole Clovis thing

Clois 1-43 was the wielder of The Lament, which was a Chainsword which was described as "wailing like a banshee seeking vengence."

Thus, he was originally given Banshee as a nickname, and when he voluntarily reset himself for the 44th time, he asked for it to become his proper name

I think that magic, saying fuck you to science, actually doesn't do the same thing from timeline to timeline, and thus the Vex still dont get it even after winning in 1 timeline.

When he brought up Exo customization, I thought he was going to mention Elsie’s… “posterior augmentations”

It’s of note that, as far as I’m aware, Exo Guardians are immune to DER. Based on the explanations given, I have to assume it’s because of the first resurrection fully erasing your memories.

Effectively, there will never be a Saint-15, as the Light prevents him from experiencing DER lol

AUTOFISTER ON THE SIR SUPERHERO SHELF

Mr Sir, I didn’t know you could get cooler but here you are

Dear Sir Superhero,

Please don’t feel the need to limit yourself to mainly Marvel videos. This series shows you can talk about anything passionately. We would love to see more content on any setting you like!

So one thing that's worth noting, if you do read up on a lot of the lore from the Beyond Light expansion, specifically to do with the collectable toy penguins, combined with some of the later tidbits of information we get in The Final Shape after Cayde-6 is revived combined with when we finally meet Micah-10, it's essentially confirmed that the young boy who Cayde remembers being close to WAS MICAH when they were a human child. Cayde met them when he was working for Clovis on Europa, with Micah being the child of two of the scientists working there. Being the big softy that he was, Cayde went out of his way to become friends with the kid and mentor them. Cayde was actually already an Exo at the time, Cayde-1 specifically, and it's also implied that getting to know Cayde-1 is part of the reason that Micah eventually chose to become an Exo. The issue is that Cayde has NO IDEA that Micah transitioned when she transferred into her Exo body, so years later, and after both of them having multiple memory wipes, neither one knew that the other was Ace nor their Father/Big Brother figure to the other even after they met. They DO eventually figure it out during Final Shape tho before Cayde's sacrifice as is implied in some dialogue that occurs where Micah urgently wants to talk to Cayde about something personal at the end of one of the optional post-campaign missions.
