Bleakwalkers are the coolest bit of lore from PoE imo

2:41 0 rep with Aloth is so on point lmfao. He is such a hard elf to please.

I concur about the community you've curated:  I've gotten a lot of great build advice in the comments.  Such a great and helpful community.

man how did you know i was looking for this video 3 days ago.?

That is some sense of timing :D

Love the PoE content. Keep it going brother.

excellent commentary brotha

Never took the POE2 deadfire plunge. Thank you for the video Slandered.

thank you for all the guides i love it

Paladins in this game and 1 are my favorite specially when I pick goldpact knights for the tankyness

Just a few things on the pally. 1) Most of its good stuff you get early on making it one of the classes thats easy to multiclass.
2) The PL 9 ability divine retribution can potentially give you unlimited resources in a party with a chanter particularly beckoner because “ally” includes summons including many lives skeleton. 3) darcozzi paladini has an additional special thing about them, outward buckler has a doubled effect in reducing affliction durations. 4) the arcane archer/ bleak walker shepherd based on a obsidian forum build that uses spearcaster, which was pretty powerful with a lot of increased accuracy and damage with pally aura and flames attack and ranger accuracy increases and imbued shots.

Thanks 👍🏽👍🏽

My first character to finish Deadfire was an orlan shepard dual-wielding pistols. It took ages to find two unique pistols, but it was really really cool and hit like a truck.

Paladin and Cleric have been my MCs since playing D&D in the 1980s.
Love a well-done Pally, and PoE2 does a great job.
Thanks, Slandered.

Your take on Bleak Walker - evil, cruel despicable. I always thought they were just rigid in their devotion to getting the job done. Kinda like Renegade Shepard in Mass Effect, not evil just willing to sacrifice whatever it takes to get the job done. They can be brutal but fear of them serves the Bleak Walker order's goals as well.

Steel Garrote paladin multi classed with monk sounds dope 😮

Zealous aura upgrades may not be exclusive to take, but as a paladin can only activate one aura at a time, you very likely do not want to take more than one.

Paladin is such a hard class for me to judge in PoE2 because it's pretty good but the opportunity cost make it hard to use. The only I really like mechanically (bleak walker + forbidden fist) I dislike to play because I don't feel evil chars work RPwise in Deadfire.

Also, I really like Edér, so making a MC tank is often not the path I choose. Yet, it was my main in my very first full run of both PoE1 and Deadfire, so I have some fond memories.

I dont really use paladins outside of the passives of Palagenia, but I would guess, with no recovery and a very short cast time, with the dot from brand enemy being very small, that refunded on kill is significantly better. The zeal per encounter is really quite limited and beyond the easiest fights, you will easily run out. Being able to use this ability essentially free if focussing single targets is probably very useful.

Paladin is my default, but Paladin's lack of bonus engagement options really hurts their ability as a melee class. You basically have to itemize or multiclass into the ability to actually hold aggro, which is pretty damning for a frontline class that spends a lot of power budget on passive bulk. Paladin benefited a lot from the class-agnostic talent system in PoE1, and suffered quite a bit from their removal in Deadfire. Paladins were also one of two classes that already had subclasses in PoE1, and actually lost subclass abilities going into Deadfire. In a world where Fighters, Barbarians, and Rogues saw colossal glow-ups, the nerfs to Paladin from game 1 to game 2 really, really sting.

It basically makes Paladin's only gimick Fire tag synergy, Bleak Walker w/ Whispers of the Endless Paths for Black Flames spam, and/or Empowering Sacred Immolation.

Oh, and Greatswords' Savage Attack doesn't stack with Sworn Enemy, for whatever reason.

I don't know if it's because of the community pack mods, but my Pallegina has the flames of devotion upgrade that boosts speed. So I can choose among 3 options for the upgrade.
