Just an update: I’ve since rewatched Rogue One and I love it even more!!! I made a few mistakes while watching this so I had to back and rewatch to fully understand. Andor next!!

Rogue One, then Andor, then Rogue One again.

"She is the kid." 👏👏👏👏👏

Grand Moff Tarkin – Peter Cushing (1913–1994). Funny fact: Christopher Lee was the first choice for the role, but he recommended his friend Peter. Later, Christopher played Count Dooku in Episodes II and III.

Carrie Fisher got to see Rogue One shortly before her death and she loved the appearance of her younger self.

Many of the cockpit shots of the pilots are cut footage from the original Ep IV.

17:45 - "She IS the kid!" LMAO!!!
"Sokoth! His eyes uncovered!" :)

"she's the main character, she's not gonna die here right?" ........

Killing me with the misidentification of Jyn and her mother….

The guy with the "ball sacks" for chins was in Episode 4 with his buddy. They're the two trying to start stuff with Luke in the Mos Eisley cantina. Love the little easter eggs in this.

@25:00 "I have so much to tell you" are some of the most heart breaking last words I've ever heard

31:22 "aren't you a little short for a stormtrooper?" from Princess Leia 😂

Star Wars Episode IV A New Hope was the first movie I took my wife to while we were dating in 1978.  The reason you see three CGI actors in Rogue One, is because they were in the first movie in 1978.  One of the reasons some of the aerial fighting in Rogue One looks like they made it for the original movie back in 1975 and 1976, is because they actually used in Rogue One footage filmed in 1975 and 1976 but the footage was never used in A New Hope.  So several of the actors filmed back then appear in the battle here also.

One of the things that all the Star Wars movies do well is that they understand how powerful people define "peace" as "lack of resistance or opposition."

In New Hope the Death Star was set for 3 reactor levels, in this movie they use it set at a single reactor level. Everybody I've watched review this film misses the dialog where they explain that .

As someone who saw Star Wars: Episode IV in theaters when it was first released, as a kid who grew up loving this saga, and later, as an adult who cried when I saw the trailer for Episode I in a movie theater for the very first time, after nearly 30 years without a new Star Wars movie, Rogue One holds a very special place for me. I honestly think it’s every bit as good as the original trilogy.

There are so many details in this movie, so many little nods and connections to the entire saga, that spotting them is incredibly rewarding. (I thought you’d catch them, but… maybe if you watch the saga again, you’ll find them. 😉)

Now, remastering the original trilogy just because we have powerful computers capable of “improving” the visual effects from the ’70s and ’80s is a betrayal of all the artistic and handcrafted work that went into those films.

You have to understand that ILM and Star Wars basically taught the entertainment industry what space could look like on screen, using techniques that were incredibly ingenious and groundbreaking for their time.

And please, we have to understand something:

CINEMA IS ART.

Would you take the Mona Lisa out of the Louvre and replace it with a poster made in Photoshop on a Wacom tablet just because you could make it look super realistic?

HELL NO!!!!

My sister does that. She talks a lot a the beginning of a movie, missing important plot information, and she's confused. I have to pause the thing later on to explain it to her.

I love how sassy K2SO is.

Rogue One: “yay they did it, there is still hope”
Andor: “Under no pretext should arms and ammunition be surrendered; any attempt to disarm the workers must be frustrated”

The black armoured troopers are 'Death Troopers', a Special Forces Security detachment linked to the ISB. Think 'SS', only not as warm and fuzzy...
