The response to this video so far has been amazing thank you and I’m so sorry I can’t reply to every comment so I thought I’d just pin this to answer some common comments
The length - this was one of the first videos I made, it’s been unreleased for a while because of copyright battle with WB, I didn’t think people would want to watch anything over an hour long but clearly I was wrong so I’ll be a bit more relaxed with the length next time
Dumbledore comment - i knew gandalf was from LOTR, when i saw him i thought it was the same actor but couldnt remember the actors name, i then remembered that gandalf actor is not the same and is very much a beloved actor and i didnt know his name either
Calling bilbos story cliche - I was jokinnnnggg, i actually interpreted this as that was what bilbo wanted for himself

"How many people made this movie?" All of New Zealand.

EVERY SINGLE 1st TIME REVIEWER: before they watch the first movie "these movies scared me off because they are so long" after they watch the movie "wait! that's it?".

Bilbo’s there because Gandalf said “he’s gone to stay with the Elves” and he’s old because the ring was keeping him young all those years.

Saying the Witcher music is better than Howard Shore's score which won 3 Academy Awards, 4 Grammys and 3 Golden Globes is .. well. It's something. Lol.

In all seriousness, that score is the emotional heart of the trilogy. It is quite simply amazing and unparalleled. My favorite in the history of cinema, which is really saying something.

Why the Hair is Important
The Light of the Trees: Galadriel’s hair was said to be golden, touched with silver, and to contain the light of the Two Trees of Valinor (Laurelin and Telperion), which illuminated the world in the ancient past.
The Parallel with Fëanor: In the Silmarillion, the great Elf-smith Fëanor asked Galadriel for a single strand of her hair three separate times, but she refused him every time, as she saw the darkness and pride in his heart.
A "Middle Finger" to Fëanor: Galadriel giving three hairs to a Dwarf—a race often at odds with Elves—instead of the greatest of the Noldor (Fëanor), serves as a profound act of grace, symbolizing that she valued the purity of Gimli's heart over the arrogance of Fëanor.
Pledge of Goodwill: Gimli promised to set the hairs in "imperishable crystal" as an heirloom and a "pledge of good will between the Mountain and the Wood until the end of days"

the fact that "Vill you vear vigs" is one of the ONLY things you knew about LOTR is fucking hilarious. God bless meme culture.

When your book is about yourself, "And he (or she) lived happily ever after" is exactly the ending you want.

Did you notice at 38:25 as the Fellowship trudged through thigh deep snow Legolas walked on top of it? That was in the trilogy and I am SO glad they included it in the movie. I've visualized that feat for years and years.

"Why was he like lowkey easy to kill?"

Because Aragorn is a badass.

Welcome to the best trilogy in Cinema History.

“How come the ring didn’t make the big guy in armor invisible at the beginning?” Cue a metaphysical discussion about the nature of Sauron’s relationship to the ring, and the ways that Maiar spirits are connected to the physical world.

Bilbo had passed through Rivendell on his previous adventures. He fell in love with it, so he returned there after his travels.

46:05 he wasn’t showing off and that bridge would 100% hold the balrogs weight.  It’s his spell that caused the bridge to collapse when the balrog tried to step further onto the bridge

The song Aragorn sings has HUGE importance! - The leaves were long, the grass was green, The hemlock-umbels tall and fair, And in the glade a light was seen; Of stars in shadow shimmering, Tinnúviel was dancing there, To music of a pipe unseen
And light of stars was in her hair; And in her raiment glimmering.

There Beren came from mountains cold; And lost he wandered under leaves; And where the Elven-river rolled.  He walked alone and sorrowing. He peered between the hemlock-leaves; And saw in wonder flowers of gold Upon her mantle and her sleeves; And her hair like shadow following

Enchantment healed his weary feet; That over hills were doomed to roam
And forth he hastened, strong and fleet; And grasped at moonbeams glistening

Through woven woods in Elven-home; She lightly fled on dancing feet
And left him lonely still to roam; In the silent forest listening; He heard there oft the flying sound
Of feet as light as linden-leaves Or music welling underground; In hidden hollow quavering; Now withered lay the hemlock-sheaves

And one by one with sighing sound
Whispering fell the beachen leaves; In the wintry woodland wavering
He sought her ever, wandering far
Where leaves of years were thickly strewn

By light of moon and ray of star; In frosty heavens shivering
Her mantle glinted in the moon; As on a hill-top high and far
She danced, and at her feet was strewn
A mist of silver quivering
When winter passed, she came again
And her song released the sudden spring,

Like rising lark, and falling rain; And melting water bubbling; He saw the elven-flowers spring
About her feet, and healed again
He longed by her to dance and sing
Upon the grass untroubling
Again she fled, but swift he came

Tinnúviel !  , Tinnúviel !
He called her by her elvish name
And there she halted listening
One moment stood she, and a spell
His voice laid on her: Beren came
And doom fell on Tinúviel
That in his arms lay glistening
As Beren looked into her eyes
Within the shadows of her hair

The trembling starlight of the skies
He saw there mirrored shimmering
Tinnúviel the elven-fair
Immortal maiden elven-wise

About him cast her shadowy hair
And arms like silver glimmering
Long was the way that fate them bore
O'er stony mountains cold and grey
Through halls of ireon and darkling door,

 And woods of nightshade morrowless
The Sundering Seas between them lay
And yet at last they met once more
And long ago they passed away
In the forest singing sorrowless”

The true elvish version is far greater and so full of beauty & nuanced mournful sadness that’s break the hearts of mortals  from its beauty and sadness so the true song has been sort of taboo and the mannish tongues that retell it is stated to only be a shadow beneath the tree of the true story!
Beren & Lúthien are the man and elf sides of their shared lineages. Arwen is (300 or more times removed) cousin to Aragorn from two branches, one from Elrond and one from Elros (twin brother of Elrond who chose the path of mankind. Long story for the second movie)

Some of the details even in this song won’t even sing let alone does he even know completely as it’s too soft of a subject even for most elves at this point. Out of respect it sort of became taboo to even go through the whole thing which tells more of their story with their advanced language full of nuance and so forth.  Aragorn even says his version that he knows is a lot more crude compared to the original elvish

(A clip of it is in the original definitive version though. Viggo Mortenson who plays Aragorn designed the melody and style himself and wished it to sound Celtic in nature.)

I recommend reacting to the cover done by Clamavi De Profundis, Karliene, and Tolkien Ensemble after the trilogy is finished and even “How Howard Shore Used Voices”. You’ll see just how deep it went. The lore itself went into the musics lyrics. Using the languages within middle earth. So even when stuff couldn’t be put in they found other ways to highly reference it via the music. It ties in all the themes at the very end in a very profound way. The thumbnail image for it is Galadriel and the image has a blue tint.

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

"I would have followed you, my brother... my captain... my king"

The Nazgûl are most powerful in the shadows, which is why Gandalf tells the Hobbits to travel only by day, and that's why they choose to stay at the inn that night.
When Strider burns them, he doesn't kill them, he only temporarily destroys their physical form.

Another LOTR reaction? Don't mind if I do!

24:45 "of course he lives, is the first fricking movie" oh boy....
