When do you think the housing market will get better?

Salaries :📉
Prices of Houses :📈
Quality of house:📉
Taxes :📈

The problem with the U.S. housing market isn’t just that homes have become unaffordable — it’s that they’re unaffordable AND poorly built. 😢

Playing a game of monopoly seems like fun at first, but normally only one person is having any fun by the end.

There should be a law that disallows corporations to buy single family homes in bulk - say 3 or more.

Growing up in the 1980s, almost everybody had a house. And these were families with modest jobs like teachers, teaching Assistance and they were all really nice houses. Now it’s the opposite people with even better jobs are barely affording to live in apartments.

Can't wait to buy a $150,000 house for only $300,000 instead of $600,000!

As layoffs increase so will foreclosures.

Homes are for living in… can we please get back to that… too many think of the  💰

Property taxes and insurance rates are slowly forcing folks out of their homes, especially if they’re on a fixed income.

I’m a dog walker, and I have some clients in really nice neighborhoods. I remember telling one of them, ‘This is a beautiful house you have here.’ She said, ‘Yeah, I’m glad we bought it 10 years ago—we couldn’t afford it now.’ They were both professionals—one was a lawyer, and the other was an engineer or worked in high tech.”

I brought my home 6 years ago,,my taxes went from $1,700and now they are $3;680.And insurance has tripled,,now my $1,600 insurance is now $3800... Just the taxes and insurance is making people go broke. This needs to stop now.

The only person that says it's a good time to buy is a reator😢

You will own nothing and they don't care if you're happy.

My mom had her house built 15 years ago now. They installed the wrong roof (not the correct color. She wanted white and got blue), poured the wrong driveway and walkway (she wanted red rock concrete and got standard) and out in all the wrong interior door (just not what she picked out). She stopped the check and got a lawyer to step in. They had to replace everything at their expense and ended up taking a loss.

Realtors are the absolute worst. When we were selling our house, we got hundreds of texts from hopeful realtors, but we chose a guy recommended to us with lots of experience.
He immediately said he had a friend who could come look at the house and make an offer before we even listed. I felt uncomfortable, but I said ok, after all we could always refuse the offer.

Then the next day I requested that they not bring any dogs (had just read a nightmare story about someone’s house being ruined by a stranger’s dog while listed) in between cleaning my entire house and rearranging the weekend so we could all be out of the house during the allotted time.

He literally didn’t write back for 2 days, then said something about they would look elsewhere. I couldn’t believe it! That was somehow a dealbreaker, that I didn’t want a dog in the house. Fired him immediately and listed it ourselves.

Laugh all you want, but I'm 40 and live with my parents.  The house is plenty big enough, I pay rent straight to my family instead of some bank or corporation, and I'm an able-bodied person that can take care of the house and land as my parents age.

It's like that where I live. You find a house for 150-175k it's pretty much guaranteed to need about 300k in renovations

Say it with me: This is by design.

The scary thing about NJ is how many businesses are in bankrupt or for sale. Everything. It's sad.
