Both my husband and I have useless college degrees and had basically nothing saved. In 2013, we decided to give up our apartment and go to CDL school. They also helped us find a job. Long story short, we did team trucking for 8.5 years, living on the road for 48 weeks a year and staying in hotels during our time off. We saved 80% of our income, bought a house and car outright and the rest is for our retirement and unforeseen expenses like medical bills. Now, because our cost of living is so low, we’re comfortable with just my husband working 3 days per week driving a day cab.
These people blow my mind. The way they just blow money. My youngest child is gluten free. The bread at Aldi went from $5 to almost $8, and she said the taste is just ok. Aldi had a bread machine for $45 and it had a gluten free setting. I took an hour figuring out how much it would cost me to make bread for her at home. It came out to $2.50 not including the machine. I do use the machine to make pizza dough as well. I buy the ingredients I need in bulk and every week I make her at least 1 loaf of gluten free bread. I put more thought, research, and justification into a $45 bread machine than these people put into buying cars/houses/vacations
I'm 57 and have just learned how to be financially responsible in the last three years. It has cost me dearly. I lost my house and was homeless for two years. This channel is so important.
I hadn't gone on vacation in years. I'm paying off $115k consumer debt since June 2020, I'm at $45k now. Make less than 6 figures a year and living with lupus. I was late learning how to budget but now it's like breathing to me.
It's so interesting that Timeshares are not universally known as the mother of all holiday scams to younger people. This was somehow deeply societally instilled in us in the 90s (but we also thought MLMs are no biggie lol)
I used to be jealous of ppl who always traveled or went on vacations. Now I know I'm making the right move, NOT going there and just camping for a weekend for like 50-100 bucks
I was able to get my credit score from 490 (made bad decisions when I turned 18) to 650 in 12 months. Watching these videos helps me stay on top of my goals.
I went from 12 credit cards and a $60,000 balance to 1 credit card and a ZERO balance and THANK GOD. With 25% interest, minimum payments didn’t even pay the interest charges.
Why would you take out a loan to pay a traffic ticket? Every court in the US will let you make payments without interest! Definitely more to that story. 🤔
