Today we're covering more lost commercials from the Lost Commercials Foundation and Reddit. Gonna try and get another video finished for next week 😅

the banned chicken MacDonald's commercial feels like a Boondocks skit

watching this. straight up blaming “it”. and by “it”, let’s just say, my Jorge.

I think I found the Birthday PSA. It's on here as "Birthday" by ImmunizeOrg. There's no dinosaur cake, but otherwise it's pretty spot on. The original thread is locked so I can't post it there so I'm just hoping Jorge or SOMEONE in the community sees this to pass it on lol

Hey Jorge. I saw your 2024 lost media video and saw the part about the Thundermans pilot and noticed you mentioned me for finding it. I just wanted to say it was an honor to hear you mention me after nearly a decade of getting into lost media thanks to you.

The coughing birthday child PSA was what got my mom to quit smoking the first time. I was sitting at her kitchen table while she was smoking, and the commercial played, and I just started coughing up a storm. She decided then and there to try hypnotherapy.

Long story short, she quit like 5 years later after relapsing.

it's always 10x creepier when the ad is completely lost, as if it never existed. like imagine watching a disturbing commercial and then finding out that nobody knows where it went in the future😭 it amplifies the uneasiness!!

I still cannot believe not a single thing has been found about the Encarnacion commercial has been found all these years later despite all the information of it being available.

DUDE I REMEMBER "You better don't" my sister and I thought the phrase was so stupid and poorly written that we to this day still use it.

Jorge, Crowley, Scare Theater, Wendigoon, Chilling Scares, and Nexpo upload a vid in the same week. We eating good this week

This is a bit sad. I had a conversation with a person working in the industry. It turns out that a lot of old TV Commercials (TVC is what you call in the Philippines) masters are gone, because after a couple of years the magnetic tapes where reused. And many of the productions house are now closed.

I do recall seeing the birthday PSA commercial on Cartoon Network when I was a kid. I'm almost positive it was about second hand smoke because I remember wishing my parents saw the ad since they both smoked well into my teens.

What’s funny is that the first ad’s statement of “You better don’t!” Would’ve become a meme in today’s day and age, not a so called mysterious lost commercials video topic.

Dude i was traumatized by the little lungs in a great big world commercials😭 they played them often on CN in the mid 2010s and the lungs died brutally in EVERY SINGLE ONE

If you get spooked, just blameitonjorge.

I'm the guy from the comments section. I think I found it. I was helping my parents clean out their basement and I found a U-Matic tape titled "Massachusetts Department Of Children And Families TV Spot 11/86". I'm working on getting an old U-Matic VTR working, so the PSA will probably be on the Internet Archive by the end of the year!

Edit: The U-Matic machine has a lot more issues than I initially thought, but I'm still sticking to my initial deadline of the end of 2025!

Update: I have good and bad news. The good news is that the U-Matic machine works. The bad news is that this is for a different TV spot, which is already available online. I'm going back to square one and searching through old recordings of WGBH programming from the mid 1980s.

Why do I have a feeling the Encarnacion Bechaves commercial is just regular commercial with a regular woman smiling? Like, when I saw the “jumpscare” recreation, I thought there’s no way that’s in any way accurate. I think it’s just a genuine smile from a regular woman, and when we call it “eerie smile”, we’re just commenting on the appearance of this unknown woman. I know some people whose smiles might look eerie to some people, but it’s just how they look unfortunately.

Had no idea the "you better don't" ad was lost or that old, because I swear I saw it on Youtube within the past 3 years, possiblty on Chadtronic's "Cursed Commercials" or Vinesauce's "Commercial Chaos."

There's an ad about a creepy "business man" doll trapped in an elevator that I desperately want to find, but whenever I post on a reddit forum about it, I get ignored. I don't have any contact with the other children who watched the ad with me, so I don't know who or what to ask. 😭😭

the you betta don't commercial i think was definitely changed to that. they shortened the ending because they cut the offensive part. they used to do that a lot, they would make several versions of the same commercial, some shorter, some longer, depending on how long the ad break was, or if the market liked one version better.
