There's no fucking way this guy solved Petscop.

...well I'll be damned. This guy fucking solved Petscop

In memory of Candace Newmaker made me glad. You acknowledged her tragedy in the beginning but still made us think of her in the end. Its very honorable in a way. Thank you.

A petscop theory with no supernatural explanation, no advanced anachronistic AI algorithm, explains how Paul is Care. And to boot, it actually tells a compelling story. This is genuinely impressive
Pressure

It really is everything, but these little moments really got me:
- “I can’t believe you would do this to people. Even kids. Even your own child. ‘Even Care.’”
- “She was last seen…spinning…in the machinery.”
- “Who founded ‘Gara… Lina?’”
- “But Mike wasn’t a pet. ‘Mike was a gift.’”
- “But just know: It might look something like this.”
- “That was the day Care finally died, and Paul was born.”
- “Petscop ends the way we were told it would from the very beginning. When Paul goes from the garage to Lina. After all, she’s been waiting for him…”

Man, Lina really is the antithesis of her family. She adopts Belle (who Rainer wasn’t always kind to), and promises to be the parent Paul always deserved. It’s sweet, and I’m so glad those three got a happy ending

This is genuinely one of the most impressive video game theories that I've seen anywhere. Out of the hundreds and even thousands of petscop theories out there, youre deductive reasoning and logical conclusions has made more sense then any other video I've seen on this. Hella impressive my man loved it.

I remember back when Petscop was still being released, and I looked at the calendar and IMMEDIATELY knew it was a custody calendar. The pattern looked identical to when my parents divorced and had to plan out custody days. A lot of people thought I was reaching back then until some big youtubers had the same idea.

Anyway, thanks for the video. There were some things in here that I hadn't even considered, and it's nice to actually have a family tree illustrated in a way that's easy to see.

This, to me, is one of the most comprehensive and well researched interpretations of this series. Props to you. The “Even Care” moment made my heart drop.

This theory makes me think the incident at the windmill disfigured Lina and that was enough to "kill" her for Marvin. And of course it was his fault, I think the guilt he carried is not "for hurting Lina" but for "destroying the object of his affection." It wouldn't make sense if Marvin and Anna were unsure if she were still alive, but it would make sense if Marvin acted like she was dead but still wondered where she actually was

According to her headstone, Lina was 9 when the windmill incident occurred. Who doesn't look for a missing 9 year old? Parents who think she's better off dead. Hear me out.

The reason the machinery was turning, the reason Anna and Marvin fled, and how Lina survived the incident all have the same answer. The windmill wasn't abandoned. It was running, meaning there were human operators present. Human operators who would have ratted Anna and Marvin out to their parents. Human operators who would have saved Lina.

Now, based on the repeated spinning and cone imagery, Lina likely fell feet-first into the hopper, meaning damage to her legs was very likely. Remember, this accident was bad enough that Marvin and Anna believed she was dead, so she was almost definitely severely injured. So she would have been taken to hospital. So her parents would have been alerted. So why would her sister still think she's dead?

Well, look at Toneth. His leg isn't just broken. It looks like it was ripped off. Toneth represents how Ranier sees an injured dog, which represents how Marvin sees children, but what if he represents something else too?

This may be a stretch but what if the windmill incident resulted in Lina losing her leg? And then, disgustingly, her parents want to "put her out of her misery", or rather, put themselves out of her misery. This is the 70s after all, disability support systems were nowhere near what they are now, not to mention the associated medical costs. I think Lina's parents abandoned her to become a ward of the state because they didn't want a disabled child, and they let everyone who knew Lina believe she died as a result of the windmill incident. Including her own sisters.

Years pass. Lina decides she wants to reconnect with her sisters. She isn't ready to face Anna yet, so she contacts Jill first. Jill is ecstatic to find out Lina is still alive, and welcomes her into her family, but she also warns Lina that Marvin and Anna are doing horrible things to their child, trying to make them into a reborn Lina. Horrified, she stays away from them. She tells Jill what happened in the windmill and how she survived, and Daniel overhears it.

But Mike is young. Mike is so young. And he lets it slip to Anna that he's seen his "other auntie". As obsessed as Marvin and Anna are with Lina, they become determined to know more.

Toneth represents all of Marvin's victims in one form. Lina's broken leg, Paul's red, the way he saw them all the way Ranier sees animals... and Mike. Mike was out walking his beloved dog when the two of them were hit by a car. The dog was left to find its way home and Jill and Tomas did everything they could to save it because it was Mike's, even if it was in pain. Mike, though, was not found. He was injured, but not fatally, and he was taken into the vehicle by it's driver, Marvin. Mike was tortured for information about Lina, but he barely knew anything about her, and his tiny body couldn't handle it, and he died. But his body was never found, so he remained missing, and Daniel kept looking for Mike B while everyone else looked for Mike A. Daniel never understood why his brother never came home, not for a long time anyway. Not until he sees Care spinning, understands Marvin's obsession, and puts the pieces together.

Flash forward. Marvin and Anna are divorcing. Care is so young. Too young to fight back when Marvin kidnaps her. An attempt at rebirthing. A botched facial surgery that leaves her temporarily blinded. She escapes, and Lina finds her, tries to encourage her to stay but the poor kid just wants her mom so Lina reluctantly drives her home to Anna. She doesn't go inside, she just makes sure Care gets inside safely. Anna had already been becoming increasingly appalled by Marvin's behavior, but seeing what he did to Care makes her hit a breaking point. She gets the injuries on Care's face properly attended to, and lets Care revert to her birth identity, Paul. If Paul and Care are the same person, and Paul was a "tiny kid" in 1999 like he claims, then Paul was probably too young to remember ever having been Care.

But Anna doesn't love Paul. Anna loved Care, in her own twisted way, but Care didn't become what she wanted and now she's stuck with Paul. She figured she'd get over it, "you don't have to love them right away" after all. But she never did end up loving him.

Years pass. Because Paul had already been kidnapped once, nobody would dare put him through that again, so he stays with Anna, who isolates him from his family (he mentions he hasn't seen most of them since 1999, the same conversation where he calls himself a "tiny kid"), and berates him any time he gives up on something (in the earlier videos he apologizes and corrects himself any time he says he "can't do" something). Care NLM is Paul NLM. But we must consider something important. 1999 and 2017 are 18 years apart.

Paul didn't start with a copy of Petscop that was meant for him, he starts with Anna's copy. He's encouraged to keep playing. On his birthday in 2017 Jill happens to be visiting her sister and nephew and finds the disc and discovery pages and throws them out. Paul argues with her about it when he finds out. But it's fine, because he receives another copy.

Anna's copy was meant to break her out of her obsession with Lina by throwing her and Marvin's torment of Care back in her face, and ultimately lead her towards finally learning her sister is still alive. This is why Paul and Belle are in contact, he knows Belle is his adopted cousin and Lina is probably tentatively back in Anna's life, they likely both keep each other at a distance due to the trauma between them. But when the disc thrown out, something else had been going on in the background. After all, 1999 was 18 years ago, Paul is an adult now...

Paul keeps playing after the game is thrown away because he gets his own copy. Given to him by Anna, who got it from Belle. Anna has access to the channel after all, so she knows Belle played it and likely has her own copy. She doesn't love Paul but she loved Care. She misses Care. She thinks if Paul keeps playing, she'll eventually get Care back. So she gets a copy from Belle. Except it isn't Belle's copy, because Belle's copy was meant to encourage her to take over Daniel's role as the family secret keeper/Petscop updater. She was planning to use Tiara as her pseudonym, the same way Daniel uses Ranier, but she gives up and decides she can't do it. So what does she give Anna to give to Paul.

Daniel is gone. ("You would be Tiara. But you're not. And now I'm gone.) I'm not sure if he's dead or just cut all ties with the family. He meant for Belle to take his place when he was gone, but she couldn't. He left behind one final copy of Petscop. A copy that would let Paul confront Marvin, guide him into coming to terms with his past as Care, and ultimately lead him out of his loveless home and into Lina's waiting arms. Jill throwing the game away wasn't out of cruelty or fear, it was to provide an opportunity for Paul to finally get his copy. A copy that lets Marvin reach him. A copy that offers him a choice: fall victim to your past or embrace it and your future. Paul plays his own melody, reclaiming his identity. He is Paul, he will remain Paul, and Care is still a part of him but he has always been Paul. And now that he's an adult, he can finally reach out to Lina and leave the crimes of his mother and father behind to instead be taken in by a family that loves him. Finally.

The connection of Lina spinning and the windmill sent chills down my back. It makes so much sense but it is so horrific. The same with the tool. I always wanted to know what the "tool" is. But the identity of the tool just makes it more horrific. Amazing work. Your brain is wonderful.

"Kids aren't meant to be molded to be whatever we want, Kids are meant to be kids."
Shakespeare just fell into his knees hearing how beautiful it is

I always thought Petscop "fell off" because of how convoluted and cryptic it got. And no theory video ever really put it together that well. But now it makes sense. There actually is a coherent story in there after all. I kinda felt like there always was, I could just never put it all together.

I always knew Paul was care, but the tool realization and the ending being explained made things so much more clear oh my god

The line “That was the day Care finally died, and Paul was born.” makes the “Remember when you were born?” question so much heavier.
Amazing video. I don’t think a petscop theory has ever made this much sense.

i have a theory that Lina might be a nickname, and her full name might be "Caroline". This would make sense, because Lina would be off of the "Line" part and "Care" (or "Carrie"), who was made to mimic Lina exactly, also comes from that name. It could be that Marvin named Care the same way on purpose but chose a different nickname as to not be suspicious right away.

Just the fact you explained the  word petscop in the beginning told me I was in for a new perspective... Great video!

When you started revealing the original purpose of the input recording I legit shed a tear. Incredible story telling on your end, unbelievably cool idea by petscop's creator.

Genuinely floored. I have been a petscop fan for years and most theories I’ve seen leave too much room for interpretation and never seem satisfying, but this one might be the closest thing to a true story yet. Explanations for the Paul/care parallels and separate game files often point to the supernatural or too technologically advanced, which neither makes sense in context, so seeing someone explain these concepts so clearly is amazing. The details like the tools actual purpose and Mikes true fate were so powerful and added so much depth and true tragedy to the story of petscop. Again, amazing job

This is the only interpretation of Petscop I've seen that has made ANY sense. Also, it was nice of you to have a memorial to Candace Newmaker at the end there.
