Yeah bringing this guy on to the channel is probably the best thing you guys have done. I’m still learning and these videos are so informative, keep it up!

By the way, the fact you are speaking for as long as you do, with no uhms or ahs, in a secondary language is impressive!!!

I don't think I've ever seen that lower hand grip placement being taught on YouTube before. Good stuff guys.

Like it 👍
I found that the most handcuffing element of the game for beginners up to even expert level is
Lack of ability to skate with eyes/head up while carrying the puck.
More so in traffic, avoiding or skating around opponents.

Definitely feels super awkward for me as a lower level beer league player 😂 but I am willing to try this. I can see the pinky on top for the top hand being helpful, I tried that here at home. The rolling bottom hand feels more difficult haha. Thanks for the tips!

Guys, since you’re currently at Hockey Center, could you please make a video in the dry training shooting area showing how to practice a snapshot there? What progression drills or preparatory exercises would you recommend for training a snapshot in the dry shooting zone? Could you please film a video like that?

Yesterday in training I had a full frontal crash (check) with the opponent attacking player. We seem to have evaded into the same direction. I fell to the ground and since that incident my palm slightly below my pinky is swollen and hurts. I guessed i held the stick like you proposed, out of my own feeling (I am a beginnger) but when the stick in the crash got hit on the front it propagated into my palm, which is in hockey not protected by the gloves. I though it over and my son told me in need to grip the stick fully, now you tell me I was doing it right. I am confused.
When I do it like you, I have more reach and more control, because the wrist has a better movement, when the pinky is behind the stick.

Great advice, bottom hand grip isn't talked about too often and - like you said - there are a lot of different approaches. I definitely need to put focus on rolling motion and see how it feels.

On another note, do you ever find youself changing your grip when going from a certain deke to a shot for example, other than sometimes changing the position of the bottom hand. But grip-wise, does it ever change depending on the deke to a wrist/snapshot?
