* This juice with the object-shaped packaging was very common in my childhood. Nobody really likes the juice; it's awful. We bought it because of the packaging; I loved the one shaped like a telephone. I used to play with it, take a sip of the juice and throw it away, hahaha.
* I don't know if anyone told you, but geléia de mocoto  is made with the collagen from cow's feet. My grandmother used to make this homemade candy on the farm, it just wasn't as colorful as this one, it was brown.
* They didn't explain the ritual of eating a Tortuguita to you, you can't bite it like that, you start with the legs, then the head, and then you can eat the middle hahaha.

I'm Brazilian, I lived in Eastbourne for around 4 years, I miss the muffins from Aldi and chocolate digestive biscuits from Tesco

I suggest you to try something more authentic such as pé-de-moleque, paçoca, rapadura, quindim, bom-bocado, queijadinha, cocada, maria-mole, pão de mel, pudim de leite, goiabada...

Tortuguita has a ritual you have to follow. It's a tradition. First you eat the legs, the tail, the head, and finally the body. It's funny like this become a thing here.

Não acredito que voce deixou a Paçoquita na prateleira !!! Quando eu era criança, Teta era chamado de "Teta de Nega" (Black Girl Tit). Hoje seria politicamente incorreto chamar assim. Geleia de Mocoto, quando eu era criança, era chamado de "Doce de Borracha" (Rubber Candy), eu adorava. Em relação aos outros, acho que você escolheu os piores doces para experimentar.

Na próxima, o marido tem que vendar a Marie e fazê-la provar os doces da infância dele. rsrsrs. Será que ela aprovaria todos? rsrs

Na minha opinião, como ex-expatriado no Brasil, alguns dos melhores doces são a cocada, a paçoca, a goiabada e o coquinho queimado, ou coco caramelizado, como também é conhecido.
Ainda faço paçoca e cocada caseiras, anos depois de ter voltado do Brasil
In my view  as a former Expat in Brazil  some of the best things  are cocada, paçoca, goiabada and coquinho queimado or coco caramelizado as it s also called.
I still make homemade paçoca and cocada years after returning home from Brazil

Se é para ficar diabética, fica com os doces certos, tipo Paçoquita, mariola de banana, Bis, caixa de bombom Garoto (ou qualquer outra marca) bala 7 belo. Os que você escolheu não são muito bons.

geléia de mocotó is kinda like marshmellow, but a little lesss processed.... just a little less. The brown one is actually good. They use brown sugar and spices, so it is quite nice. The one you had not so much

"Refresquinho" had a blue flavor, a yellow flavor, a red flavor... 😅

I think they missed out on some more traditional candys like paçoquinha (peanut candy), suspiro, bananada de casquinha, maria-mole, guarda-chuva de chocolate and some wafers from questionable brands.

love  the videos, thx for the great content.  btw, mocoto is made of cow's hooves .... if you 'd like to try some nice Brazilian sweets, I strongly recommend Dengo's chocolates ... they're the bees knees .
