I am crocheting hats for L&D and the NICU right now, they only require your home is a smoke free home, I have a cat so when I am done with all of them, they will be washed in free and clear detergent and packaged in my garage where my cat doesn’t go. Most my crafts like soap, lip scrub, crochet washing and packaging all done in my garage where my cat and my youngest son doesn’t go.

Adding almond oil in a VERY small amount, is ok. A teaspoon or less per pound of soap, is more than I would ever use. I wouldn't add any at all. Almond oil can and does spoil (go rancid). Melt & pour has everything it needs in it as a base soap. Coloring, add in's (like lavender buds) and non oil-based scent is best for that type of soap.
I do traditional lye-based soap. I use M&P for embeds for the top only. No scent, biodegradable glitter & color.
This is just bad.

The LLC is NOT in Caitlin’s name. It’s in Crystal’s… her Mother’s name, because Caitlin collects disability benefits, so in order to continue to collect them, the “business” is not in her name, which is not only Disability fraud, but tax evasion.

I have cats. I’m an OCD cleaner. Wipe everything SPOTLESS. Yet somehow there’s ALWAYS A HAIR SOMEWHERE. Wipe it down again.. then BAM. Happens again. Cat hair can float around the air until it finds a place to land, no matter how much you “clean a table” there will ALWAYS be some cat hair somewhere 🧐

Edit: just got to the part where you also mentioned cat hair being in the air. Glad we agree 😂

That’s really kind of scary actually because what happens if someone is allergic to cat or a dog dander and that gets mixed up in the soap? I wonder how they would talk themselves out of that one.🤡😠😡

14:52 it truly is easy. My children melt and pour soap when they are 8. My oldest has been making hot process and cold process soap independently for the last 10 years. She’s autistic and has developmental delays, but she understands how to use the soap calculator to ensure everything is safe. She grew up helping me make soap since I’ve been making soap for over 20 years. It’s not complicated unless you don’t understand basic math, can’t use a scale, or can’t follow basic rules.

The CPSC handles complaints about soaps. Unless if it is labeled as a Medical soap or Cosmetics soap then the FDA handles that.

Honestly thank god she’s not using a more complicated/higher end soap cause if she were working with a lye solution….oh boy. Burns everywhere, I can see it already 😭 you can’t just measure that with your heart you need to measure it out properly each time.

I am a residential cleaner for people with pets. And as the owner of two big dogs and a cat, their hair is in LITERALLY EVERYTHING! Clothes, furniture, food, even the dust on the shelves has hair in it. You can deep clean the entire house, but if a pet has been in the house for a few months at the least, there's gonna be hair.
A separate location and proper PPE is the only way to reduce the risk of foreign things in your product.
