Relive (if you were there) or listen to the musings of the man who was at the apex of our best ever season!
Promotion for the 1st (& only time) in our club’s history! 30 years ago!
John has asked for do a final 6th episode to contain fans’ questions (that he’ll answer). So far, we have 13 questions - if anyone has something they’d like to ask John, put the question in the comments - if humanly possible they’ll be included

An awesome insight into the greatest season in our club's history. I remember watching from Australia. Michael Parkinson kept mentioning on his show that this little town in South Yorkshire was on the verge of promotion to the Premier League. He talked of his friendship with Dickie Bird, and how excited everyone in Barnsley was at gaining promotion. I shed a tear or two when you were talking about your Dad, Andy. I'm sure there were lots of Dad's looking down proudly at Oakwell on that special night against Bradford.

Absolutely magnificent listen. I've still got my paper clippings etc all in a box safely kept via various moves around the world from the promotion season. One of the few times I ever saw my Grandad crying when we went up. Just the thought of it makes me well up even now.

What a great series this is! Just WOW!JD was right about the crowds - I didn't really sense an uplift until the Good Friday win against WBA even though that game was on Sky! Regarding the deals with Clint & Jovo etc, it's just proof it's not what you know, it's who you know. Finally, at the Bradford game, you are spot on about Wilko's goal, it took forever to go in, and I remember when Clint scored, I just burst in to tears, so I truly understand your emotion towards the end of the video. Great work! COYR!

Brilliant, saw every game home & away, over £2000 spent on tickets & travel, wouldn’t change one moment or give up those memories for any £

Fantastic bloke is JD met him several times during his family business, always made you feel you worked with him rather than for him.
Good stuff Andy 👍
