The Minecraft Survival Guide Season 3 continues in Minecraft 26.3: Wilderness Bound!

In today's video, I finally build a gold farm! But the reason I build one is unexpected: I need more gravel.
Concrete Stairs and Slabs were added in 26.3, so the opportunities to build with concrete just expanded enormously - as long as we have a good supply of both sand and gravel. While renewable sand can only be obtained in tiny quantities from the Wandering Trader, renewable gravel is possible thanks to Piglin Bartering - but we need to pay the piglins. The solution? Finally build a gold farm!

We also take a look at where you can acquire gravel at short notice in the overworld, take not of the other resources that piglin bartering provides renewable supply of, and squeeze in a quick reminder of how crafter circuits work.

Man, I absolutely love your Survival Guide series. Its just so nostalgic and comforting every time you say,"Hello everyone, my name is Pixlriffs and welcome back to the Minecraft Survival Guide."
I remember when my cousin showed me one of your Survival Guide episodes back in 2020. That was when I started watching your series, and even now, I remember, the very first house you built, the little tips you showed like putting your crafting table under the door and changing the difficulty when curing villagers. You warning us about phantoms, and the difficulty being increased as the time passes. Its all so damn nostalgic.
I wasn't able to watch all of the episodes because of studies and life being busy and all. But I really enjoyed watching you.
Past couple of days haven't been very good, but just now, as I was scrolling through YouTube, I saw this video and I just clicked it. And God knows how glad I am that I did. Even now you sound exactly the same as you sounded when I first saw your video at my cousin's house 6 years ago.
These videos are a big part of my life. That's why, I just want to say, thank you. Thank you for making these video. Thank you for teaching me how to play Minecraft. Thank you for everything. And please, never stop making these videos that are just, perfect.

I have watched the Minecraft survival guide since I was 9 years old. This series has taught me everything I know about the game and is the reason I still love it so much. Thank you for making it.

i had binged watched the whole playlist till before the dappled forest drop and i was like "when did he build a gold farm i don't remember that" and then i saw that it was posted 23 minutes ago lol

I manually carved out the nether and walled a 256 block diameter circle and built a gold farm that rains Zombie Piglins. It took me months to do. I disassembled a Bastion and remove a sea of lava as well. It was like a huge engineering project.

I put a quick video of it up on my channel. I'm not monetized so it's not about farming views from this channel.

The best way I've found to stay stocked up on gravel is to dig it out when you're caving. Bring some enchanted shovels with you and it's a breeze to scoop up the entire deposit. You usually get about 3 stacks of gravel from each one, plus it exposes more surface area to look for ores.

Recently found out that Wandering Traders sell Sand on occasion, red and standard. So Sand is technically renewable, but in the worst way possible! 😂

For large deposits of Gravel such as the Gravely Peaks, I like to employ the Torch technique. Digging out one block and quickly placing the Torch underneath is a lot faster and slightly more satisfying than going wild with a shovel. Sure you might get some Flint in the mix, but the same could be said if you accidentally grab a Fortune Shovel instead of the Silk Touch one.😅

I always forget that Frost Walker lets you walk safely on Magma Blocks.

As a bedrock player I’m sad that I can’t get to the nether roof. Do I still watch all the videos? Yes I do. Pix’s voice is nice to listen to and I enjoy the content. Don’t know if I’ll ever build one of these, but it’s good to know the mechanics. Wonderful video Mr. Pix, as usual!

I think Mojang has committed to making renewable sand eventually (that want to get rid of TNT duping but renewable sand is a prereq), but they often forget those commitments.

Sand is technically renewable because it can be bought off wandering traders, but harvesting it from a desert or beach is a lot more efficient than buying it one stack at a time on the 6% chance that a trader carries it. Red sand is worse as you can only buy it 24 blocks at a time with a 6% chance of appearing as a trade (yet trading is somehow my primary source of red sand in my long-term world 😅).

10:20 don’t apologize! Bedrock gold farms are super OP, with those beautiful massive flickering portals + trident killer setups, and in the overworld too!
I’ve been using the design from navynexus in a Realm for the past 6 years and it never broke.

4:10 fun fact: the Windswept Gravelly Hills is, as far as im aware, currently the Rarest biome in the game. i forget exactly how much it covers in a world but i believe since 1.18 theyve been the rarest biome after the Modified Jungle Edge

The gold nuggets will not back up, because crafters will spit items out into the world if the container they're looking at is full. You'd either need a higher redstone signal to stop it crafting, i.e. from a comparator reading the double chest output, or some other way to shut it off. Also, the crafter triggers twice given that the observer detects both the redstone signal increasing to 9 and then decreasing back down to 8, so if you hook that design up to a gold block crafter, you might get nuggets or pressure plates as output.

I'm a bedrock (pocket edition player because I play on my phone) and I love your Survival Guide. I know I can't do a lot of the stuff you do technically speaking, but I saw your Dappled Forrest videos (the one following abandoned camp to abandoned camp, and the second more talky one about the percentages of terrain generation), and they both helped me so much! I had already spent a couple of hours chasing the abandoned camp chain and was getting discouraged slightly, but your generation terrain chat was just what I needed to keep going. I found a Dappled Forrest abandoned camp map just a camp later in a cherry grove (traveled over 13,000 from spawn to the cherry grove abandoned camp - side note, and not to brag but...I chained together 4 or 5 camps before the cherry grove one and only 1 didn't have the hidden copper chest). It was a good adventure and getting that map without checking chunk base felt great! And it was solidified when I followed the map to the location and the Dappled Forrest was HUGE!!! This has been such a fun series to watch and has inspired the play on my world so much. I've been playing on your seed since this season 3 dropped and seeing spots in your world and where they are in mine has been so fun. Thank you again for your research and sharing of building process and all the things.

In theory, all the sorting from this farm happens at hopper speed, i.e. no water streams or slimeblock pushers, so the only need to have more than a single slice is to prevent the overflow going into the furnace.

We recently built a gold farm on our family server... so this is a very timely video. The idea to reset fall damage with powder snow is really good!

I am curious how you are fuelling the furnace? Seems like it would burn through fuel quite quickly... we just use a smart-dropper to dispense unsorted items into lava...(can be a risk if you die and your diamond gear gets sucked into the hoppers and dispensed into lava though!)
