Hey Friends! Welcome back to Mustard Seed Homesteading! Today we are harvesting all the garlic out of the grow bags as well as the Greenstalks in my backyard garden and the ones in the driveway. Now my driveway garlic has always done amazing so this year we are comparing to the Greenstalks from the driveway to the backyard as well as the grow bags and I am very pleased with the outcome today and cannot wait to share with all of you!! Congratulations on your wonderful garlic harvest! I just got my 3rd GreenStalks so mine are full of veggies and herbs! You’re right….it gives me so much joy too! I got all three planted and have a few pockets that will be filled today with some herb seeds that just arrived this morning! The satisfaction I feel from being totally organic is beyond what I’ve felt before! And it keeps me out of trouble…..I don’t see how you can take care of so many! My 3 keep me busy. I dote over them like a new mom! 😂

What an awesome garlic harvest! It’s beautiful. I grew it for the first time ever and my harvest was awesome too. I planted in raised beds. Now, I have to try growing garlic in my greenstalks. Thank you for sharing!🧄🧄🧄

I'm in Madison, Al, this spring has been so nice this year! Rain, coolish temps! My tomato plants are already 5 ft tall! Grats on your garlic!

The elephant garlic are the ones that grow what you call " little garlic " they're called corms. If they fall off in the soil or if you plant them they will grow one large clove next season, it really cool

I personally have found root (beets, radish, carrots, garlic, onions,potatoes, sweet potatoes grow better in raised beds rather than my Greenstalk. I usually harvest 150-200 heads of very large garlic. I love my Greenstalk for herbs and lettuce and arugula.

You can grow more elephant garlic from the little baby garlics at the bottom. I think they are called bulbils? Or something like that, but its a special trait of elephant garlic.

I have garlic in containers all over my back yard because I only learnt bout Greenstalks this year through Megan and I now have my first one, but it only has my red onions in it because I bought it ok late for my winter garlic. Be we had a very we winter and first 2 months of the year, my garlic is coming in much earlier, especially the fabric container this year. It fell over 3 weeks ago and they all browning (2-3 bottom leaves are brown)

I live in N AL zone 8a and my Early Italian and Susanville did fantastic. The grow bags were terrible but everything in raised beds was amazing

Wow. I've been watching you for so long and just heard you say you were from Alabama. I'm in north Alabama growing zone 7B. What zone are you in? I pulled my onions last week. I was thinking about pulling my garlic this weekend. It's my 1st year growing garlic, so I'm not sure when to pull it. I think it is ready. I saw a video that said if garlic is grown in the ground for too long, little ones will start growing outside the big bulb. Hopefully, mine is ready to pull. I grew mine in a raised bed. I think I will use my greenstalk this fall. Love watching your videos and Azure hauls.
