Bobby Knight's teams intense man to man help defense is legendary!

I went to Bobby Knight's camp in 1991.  He is exactly what you would expect, shouting, and cussing.  And he would leave after opening remarks every day, and at the end of the day before dinner he would talk to us again and act as if he was there all day and tell us he saw good things...

Why isn't there a tape of Knight hitting Dakich in the face? That would be worth checking out over and over again.

Dakich was a backup who slowly got more time as his career at Indiana progressed and a had an okay-for-a-bench-player senior season, with good shooting.........5.3 pts a game, 53% from the field, 73% from the line, 2.7 assists, 2 rebounds.

Why not ask Dakich about the time Knight allegedly entered Gary Andrean's locker room when he was a senior? ... I grew up in the area and this story is legendary in these parts ...
Knight and an asst were speaking with Dakich and his coach after the game when all of a sudden right there out of the blue Knight popped him! ... cold-cocked right in the face ...
Knight supposedly then said he wanted him to come to IU ... legend also has it that Dakich was the one player who would go after Knight and retaliate whenever Knight touched him ...

Speaking as a coach, what a sick man Bobby Knight was. Worst thing  is that some want to emulate him.

It wasn't abuse. Knight was showing a technique. It was practice. Dakich, probably unknowingly, interfered with that.

It makes zero sense that he was late to practice etc as the HC.  Weird.

some of these coaches play mind games...they use that "i like players who want to be coach toughed" to take out their anger on players. nothing cool about hitting your player in the face with the ball. what's funny is the same coaches who act like this, will be quick to quit when their gm talks to them sideways. you can coach tough without stoning my face with the ball and calling me out my name

No getting around it Knight was a bully and a POS.
