"Ain't nobody never learnt nuthin from no damn book!"

-David Grier

I've long known Grier as one of the most interesting, intricate and subtle flatpickers around, but I had no idea he was such a goofball. Seems like a really nice guy. In addition to the great insights into his technique, Grier's self-effacing humor and easygoing disposition make for a very pleasant hour. Time well spent.

David Grier doesn't let in how brilliant he is, but he is SERIOUSLY brilliant.

That approach to playing essentially did not exist prior to David Grier creating it.

Lots of wisdom here, great playing! Thank you!

Building on the likes of Doc Watson and Tony Rice, Grier definitely takes things to the next level. Does very different things with melodies.

lots of pickers out there some of em faster than grier..one things for certain, his style stands out..i love the way he times notes in a song..he's my favorite to listen to and try to copy
