With an interviewer as Eddie Stubbs and all he knows about about the history of music, I could listen to these stories forever. What a pleasure to hear about the outstanding music life of Allen Shelton, - he is certainly a legend and looking back into old video clips, it seems that he has had a ball, - he always smiles and seems to have fun, just like he does in this interview. Thank you so much for passing all these stories on to us.
Allen’s friend who got him the job in New Orleans making more money than he had ever made in his life was Carsey Smith. The movie title Allen did the soundtrack for was Last Of The Mobile Hotshots, filmed in part in Baton Rouge.
Wonderful interview, such an insight into the days gone by in bluegrass. Allen was one of the banjo players that I studied the most when starting out, love to play his arrangements but he was top class and gave us so much. Great to see him here talking about his career.
