The only thing more evil than Animal Farm is the CGI remake that completely destroyed its own message.

The older you get, the less subtle Animal Farm becomes

The pigs being the ones who rush to power makes sense from the perspective that they truly can't offer anything but meat.

“The creatures outside looked from pig to man, and from man to pig, and from pig to man again; but already it was impossible to say which was which.”

The fate of Boxer is the most tragic one.

The animals didn't revolt because they wanted to rule the world, they revolted because Jones stopped providing the bare minimum

In the beginning, the farm is "functional but failing." It's the moment Jones loses control (aka neglect) that the power vacuum is created

Orwell is suggesting that incompetence is just as dangerous as tyranny. A leader who is too lazy to feed his people creates the exact same amount of suffering as a leader who steals their food.

All members of Analyzing Evil are equal but the Patrons are more equals than the others

It's insane how this book entered cultural relevance again by way of getting devoured by the industry and regurgitated as gutless slop with Seth Rogen as the Josef Stalin analog

Animals will not sleep in beds (with sheets)
Animals will not drink alcohol (in excess)
Animals will not kill other animals (without cause)
4 legs good ~~2 legs bad~~ 2 legs better
All animals are equal ( but some animals are more equal than others)

We make kids read Animal Farm, but it should be mandatory for adults to read it too. Often, it’s taught only as an allegory for the Soviet Union after the October Revolution. But when you learn more about Orwell’s life and his politics, you realise that its message is actually that power hunger and greed are universal traits, and that you can never overthrow the establishment, you just replace it with yourself.

Animal Farm's message is just as paramount today as it was back then.

one step closer to “Analyzing Evil: Lord Of The Flies”… any day now…

The final chapter is very disturbing as the Animal Farm’s pig’s corruption became so ingrained that it turned them into bipedal abominations neither animal nor man- but carrying the latter’s ideology and that the other animals traded an ignorant master that doesn’t understand the ways of animals for masters that completely are aware of animal behavior to undermine them completely

Say it with me: all adaptations are equal, but some are more equal than others. You know of what I speak.

How this book is accessible and understood by 13 year olds and old men alike speaks volumes of its relevance and importance

Orwell definitely knew what he was doing when he called Animal Farm "a fairy story."

@bahesb2419 1 month ago

The entire story brings in a terryfing but realistic message:
Bad people abuse power, people rise up against it, new people get into power and the cycle continues.

“At any given moment there is an orthodoxy, a body of ideas which it is assumed that all right-thinking people will accept without question”
—George Orwell

“While everyone was worrying about the world turning into 1984 it turns out the world is actually Animal Farm”
—Johnny Moscato
