The ruling for the wife's lawsuit is disgusting. It's the government's way of washing their hands for any accountability.

Every murder is a nightmare, but these random murders with no actual motive are perhaps even more terrifying to me. Those poor girls, having to witness it 💔

This guy hated being around people?

I hope he’s thoroughly enjoying his lifetime in prison.

Why didnt the authorities warn the public about the shootings when they first started! That was so careless

A miracle that the girls survived, absolutely horrific event. As a father myself, I really hope he is at peace knowing that by being the only fatality, it saved his children’s lives. RIP

They should have warned everyone and banned camping while these shootings were going on.

I am just a few minutes in. Poor baby laying by her father's lifeless body, calling for him. My heart is crushed. 💔💔💔

Those poor little girls. That is so traumatic, imagine losing your Daddy like that. It's just so senseless and cruel.

the judges who dismissed those lawsuits should be ashamed.

Blaming a dead man and dismissing his families law suit because he personally didn't phone the park before the trip to ask "is the park safe" is disgusting behaviour. That responsibility should fall on the park. The reason it was never announced that there were several incidents of shootings by the park is because they knew their damn park would be empty and they would lose revenue if that information was given up willingly. The park should be held responsible and the park should pay for damages to that poor family. No amount of money will bring back someone's husband or father, but they could use that money to make sure their kids are set for life. It is the least they could do considering the complete lack of responsibility has completely torn a family apart and traumatised those little kids.

Aside from the monster that killed Tristan & shot at others, the agencies involved showed total failures in their duties. It's disgusting. Even the judges that dismissed Erica & the detective's lawsuits. The whole thing stinks & victimized these folks all over again...makes me sick. (Alice & Mia, you did excellent work presenting the case. Thank you. ❤)

Death by bureaucrat. “Not my job.” “Not this Department’s responsibility.” “We are not required to take any action.” uh huh. Disgusting.

He wasn’t a “survivalist;” he was a bum. Let’s hope he never gets released.

The world is full of monsters walking among us 😢, no human is allowed to take another ones life 😢
Rest in peace Tristan 🙏

Why is it always when the worst happens the authorities decide to say/do something 🤦🏼‍♀️

This is one of the many, MANY murder  cases occuring in America's national parks. Ever since the national parks got open to the public, there've been a plethora of campers' murders, nationwide. As a European, I would be sh!t scared to camp in those national parks; they are unimaginably large, with very poor security. No offense, but those Park/Wildlife Rangers don't exactly ooze "we're here for public safety" to me; they feel more like a bunch of Yogi Bears with picnic baskets, except they have guns. Plus, and this is the crucial factor , the ridiculously lax gun laws in America allow everyone - including people with severe, violent pathological personality disorders - to obtain shotguns including the ones that are only used in wars in Europe. That being said, this case is extremely heartbreaking and equally frightening. The randomness of it; the botched prevention job of the corrupt agencies involved - the perfect storm for a tragic outcome.
I'm just relieved that neither of those poor little girls became a victim of that malicious maniac.
RIP Tristan 😢

"The sheriff's department, nor the State parks agency, were required to inform the public..... The sheriff's department could not be held accountable because Tristan never got in touch with them to ask if camping in the park was dangerous"????

Absolute madness. How on earth was Tristan supposed to know there was an active shooter in the park?? Yet we do know that the authorities were aware of the danger. This goes some way past incompetence, it's is pure evil, and sadly it's yet another example of a declining system and culture.

Park needs to be shut down or sued entirely because who victim blames a dead man who can’t even speak for himself anymore

It is so cruel and unfair that the two little girls are now growing without their loving father. I am sure Erica is doing her absolute best, though. Stay strong, Erica. It is true you were blessed with a lovely husband. I am so sorry your time together was cut short. May you continue to find the strength to carry on living. Hugs from Greece.

The Judge said, "you are a smart guy...and that's a dangerous combination; cold-blooded and smart". Maybe this is true, but in my experience the worst offender of anything cruel, is just plain 'Mean & Stupid'
