OH NO INFINITE AFFORDABLE HOUSING IM GOING INSAAAAAANE!!!!!!!!!

People complain about how he draws people? Bruh that's just his style. Wouldn't recognize his work without them

"Maybe on Earth, maybe in the future"is the single coolest tagline for anything I've ever seen in my life and boy I've collected some good decades

The best Blame! commentary video ever. Not just telling the complete story like many others... Congratulations!

The big room being 143'000km in diameter is insane. Just that room alone could fit 10 entire earth's. Tiny remnants of humanity hidden in the structure is probably more than the current earth population.

in Regard of "small pockets of human civilization that remained". There was one thought that blew my mind when i realized it. The amount of humans in the city most likely is really huge! Through whole manga we've seen bunch of human settlements, some are pretty big like Cibo's hometown. And considering the size of city the human population of it may very well be billions and billions of people. Probably even more than it was before net terminal gen disaster. But because enormous size of this structure (that reaches orbit of Jupiter as we know) they are so scattered, that you can travel for hundred of years and never meet a single human being (or silicone life for that matter). It's just hard to grasp and imagine the size of this thing!

crazy stumbling across this at only 200-ish views and less than 1k subs. your editing felt like a professional manga recapper with the actual joy, passion and humor that comes from someone that actually engaged with and loved the source material. wherever you take your channel next, i'll make sure to stick around

It’s nice to find an up-and-coming YouTuber who doesn’t have one of those “I watch anime” voices lmao

Cibo ends up exactly like the cloning machine in Beautiful Life: a receptacle for what someone hopes to be a Net Terminal Gene, without any more agency or personality :(

First 5 seconds, feels like I’m getting in on Google on the ground floor with with one

Amazing analysis. Blames whole art style has been a huge inspo for me on insta

Thank You! I've been haunted by the image of an armless woman my whole life

I just discovered your video and Blame! And God damn!! This is a masterpiece!! I’m 46, lost Bkade Runner and all cyberpunk stuff, never heard of this till I saw a book in Barnes and Nobles! The images captured me! Bought the two masterpiece volumes! Just amazing!!

I've done plenty of research and deep-dives into the much expanded lore and interconnectedness of Nihei's works (much is needed to understand any of this). Theories vary on what the ending meant, whether the timeline is fluid or looped, what universes are connected (doubt Knights of Sidonia is connected to BLAME! or Abara or Biomega, but they do all have intertwining themes), and how it all fits together. Hell, I've even seen people argue about the lore Nihei explicitly expanded on in regards to things like silicon life. Alas, his works are something many (including myself) still obsess over to this day.

I could write an essay on all the information I’ve gleamed on Nihei’s works over the years. Blame! is one of the best mangas ever, my favorite. All of his works are great. Watching how his storytelling evolved over time alongside his art was something to behold. The concepts he throws at the reader while letting the imagination run in infinite spirals, asking the reader to really think. Damn. I’m somewhere around 70% sure of how the critical contingent weapon (the GBE) works. I’m around 90% sure on history of the world, but there are yet still unknowns. Scouring in any sources or references or subsequent works to fill in gaps and piece the picture together. I read in the art book Nihei released that silicon creatures were a divergence of humans, no longer human. I and others have theorized the main character in Noise could’ve been the first silicon creature (after the events leading to the books ending), but this is not confirmed (to my knowledge). The art book also references the last known size of the megastructure to be equivalent to 43 Au. But the manga also states its’ true size is unknown.

There is a plethora of information out there, but leaving it mostly open to interpretation was one of Nihei’s smartest ideas. Noise is supposed to be a prequel, with Blame! 2 and NGE (Netsphere engineer manga) serving as sequels. A question I’ve always posed among all his works (or most) is the variable of TOA heavy industries. It seems to be a common variable in many. Are they all connected in some way? This remains… unclear. And that keeps me coming back to read them, all of them. Nihei is a manga genius; I have mad respect for him. He was an architect, and it shows. Damn it shows!

I’ve discussed the many topics over years in different media platforms. Teamspeak, discord, here. And as I said, there are still unknowns. Leaving the allure of the mystery to the reader. Allowing the imagination to run wild. I love this manga. I love that as time still passes; people still discover this and also admire it. It, and Nihei’s many other works, have been a big influence in my life. I will likely still praise this series into my old age. I’ve read and owned this stuff for near a third of my life, I’m 40 now. This stuff was sci-fi gold.

I do love to see videos like this pop up in my feed, I love to see that others still also love this series and Nihei's other works. Kudos to you dude.

crazy and nice that you had BLAME! in your school library

Wow this is crazy to find a manga video from another small YouTuber from Washington! I’m from the Seattle and Renton area, keep up the good work!!

4:28 fun fact, if you play Ghost in the Shell: Innocence OST "The Ballade of Puppets: Flowers Grive and Fall" during KIlly's journey and "The Ballade of Puppets: The Ghost Awaits in the World Beyond" during the action; you get a extra monolithic atmosphere

I love the entire notion of Silicone Life as a faction. Also the way the Megastructure grows is essentially by automatic 3D printers with legs or creepers tracks. Cibo it's a fascinating transhumanistic character, especially since she is effectively retrieved as an engram from a dessicated corpse. I think I like Killy's travels with Cibo arc, or his short stay with The Fishers to be the most interesting. I dislike the later arcs when The Operators start going into Matrix Reloaded level extended fight sequences

you live so close to me this is insane

i loveee blame and finding ur video was like finding gold keep it up man
