Some tourists are condescending and arrogant but the locals have to power through that with dignity to maintain the tourist economy.

In the Philippines, the sales people in the stores standing around and not seemingly paying you any heed is not seen as rude. As customers, we want to look at or for things first before we call for help. We want privacy in our shopping first. Had you called their attention though, they would for sure be swarming around you to help. I got so used to this at home in the Philippines. That when I go to the stores abroad and a salesperson would come and ask how I was doing. I would say, I’m alright so they’ll leave me in peace to admire and look at stuff first. So this is just a matter of how things are done differently in a culture than a sign of rudeness/unfriendliness.

Have you heard about the expedition from coron to el nido - it’s 3 to 4 days boat expedition from island to island and experience the remote island and enjoy the pristine water of Palawan with lots of food and activities and enjoy the culture of the Philippines

Try LIMASAWA Island in Southern Leyte, JOMALIG Island in the Province of Quezon, and MANIWAYA Island in the province of Marinduque. While in Metro Manila, some interesting places are the BGC in Taguig, OKADA Manila in Aseana City in Paranaque, and Greenbelt in Ayala Makati City

I've watched vlogs from foreigners - British, Americans, Australians and more - who explored other islands of the Philippines and loved it. I think Palawan, Coron, Boracay, Cebu, Davao were some of the places they visited. Some go off the beaten path to avoid places with too many tourists. Maybe next time if you visit the Philippines again you can do the same. I heard they have 7,000 islands?
