I Went Looking for Another GOLDEN GULLY in the NT Bush…
After recently finding a gully that produced some incredible gold, I couldn’t help but wonder… could there be another one out there?
So I headed back into the remote Northern Territory bush with the metal detector, searching the hills and narrow gullies for signs of another hidden patch of gold.
The mission was simple: find another Golden Gully.
But gold prospecting rarely goes according to plan.
I walked plenty of ground, dug plenty of rubbish and followed every clue the country gave me. Eventually, the detector started talking — and I managed to pull three small gold nuggets from the ground.
Not exactly the rich gully I was hoping for… but enough to tell me something important:
There’s gold here.
And sometimes that’s all you need to keep searching.
Because finding a new gold patch isn’t always about geology, maps or having the perfect plan. Sometimes it’s simply about putting one foot in front of the other, swinging the detector and refusing to give up.
The hunt for the next Golden Gully continues…

It’s a bit hard for you there with no water but if your finding worn gold like that in the gully, panning off dirt from in there might be worthwhile , those bit are well travelled so I’d be looking upstream too and those big pieces you found towards the end, that area might be worth a bit more of a investigation.
