Hi everyone! What grade (out of 10) would you give this video?

I was privileged to watched this in the cinema in 2000. One of the best movie experiences of my life.

This one scene is better than the entirety of Gladiator 2

Joaquin Phoenix was phenomenal as a villain in this movie--tragic, vulnerable, slimy and funny all at the same time.

this kind and level of movies are so hard to come by these days, and that's probably why people stop going to a theatre.  sad.

When Maximus saves the the life of the German gladiator shot in the leg by an arrow, his true warrior heart is revealed. A single act of courage and solidarity can move Empires. It's still true today.

The look of sheer fright and terror on Joaquin's face when Maximus finally reveals himself.

One of the greatest epics of our times. This scene is simply at another level aided by masterful acting and music composed by the gods themselves.

I've seen this movie well over a hundred times and it never gets old

The scene when Maximus says put me in front of my men and see where their loyalty lies is so awesome you so it in this scene and they arent even his actual soilders yet in heartbeat they surround him when threatened. Would have love to see him actually get to his troops

It's hard to express how grand this was at the time.  The music was epic, the fights were epic, the story...  I want to see the second one but this one has a special place in my heart.

I like the little swallow by Maximus after the first line. He isn't fearless. He is swallowing his fear to face what must be faced.

Nobody gives director Ridley Scott kudos for his amazing production & formulas of cinematic genius in this period piece.

idk how the new movie is going to even come close to this. This is absolutely a masterpiece.

The crowds "oh " when the lady gets split in half 😂

I love the way MF Doom moves between roles and genres,  what cant he do?

I like how Hans Zimmer tweaked and reused this score for Pirates of the Caribbean.
Work smart, not hard 😊

I love that one shot of Proximo celebrating. Look at his face, Oliver is reliving hundreds of matches.

His smile is happy and sad at the same time, I cant explain it

Its not just a movie, Its a saga which shows the path how democracy defeat autocracy.
I will rank is first among all movies on earth.

My favorite scene in my favorite movie of all time.

We see Maximus as the gladiator and the general commandeering his troops against heavy odds. Like Hannibal of Barca who was usually outnumbered his battle genius was the difference. That moment he gets on the horse and flips his sword is so badass man!

Not to mention the score with "Honor Him" playing right as he wins with the crowd erupting then the Emperor meeting him and the best dialogue in the entire film in a movie of amazing dialogue, with "My name is gladiator" and then "My name is Maxiumus Decimus Meridus" ending with the emperor yielding to Maximus as the crowd chants live! live! his lip quivering and then the gladiator theme score hitting as Maximus raises his helmet and the crowd erupts even harder.

Yeah an all time scene in the greatest film ever created.

The height of the Roman Empire was when Marcus Aurilius was Emperor.

The height of Hollywood films was when Russell Crowe played Gladiator.

Strength and Honor⚔️
