I grew up in Protestant and non-denominational churches, but over time I started diving deeper into the history of Christianity, the early Church, and the origins of the Bible itself. The more I researched the ancient Christian faith, the more interested I became in the traditional churches and the practices that have been preserved for centuries.
In this episode, I talk about my experience visiting an Orthodox church for the first time, what stood out to me, the differences I noticed compared to modern churches, and why the historical side of Christianity has completely changed the way I look at faith. From the Divine Liturgy and worship style to the emphasis on tradition, symbolism, and continuity with the early Church, this was a completely different experience than what I grew up around.
This video is not meant to attack any denomination or claim I have all the answers. It’s simply an honest conversation about my journey, the questions I’ve been asking, and why I believe more people should study the history of Christianity for themselves.
If you’ve ever been curious about Orthodoxy, church history, the early Christians, or the differences between Protestantism and the Orthodox Church, this episode will probably resonate with you.
