This is why you’re my favorite YouTuber. You can be completely empathetic while also not tolerating bullshit. 10/10 guy.

It pisses me off sm when people hate on fat people for being lazy and not exercising and then they go to the gym or start working out at home and post their journey and people make fun of them for trying to get healthier 😭 like please

I am a plus sized airline worker and maybe people don't want to hear this but...flying is a war against gravity. We have weight limits on all of our planes, the smaller the plane the smaller the weight limit, and it factors in total baggage weight (that's the real reason we weigh bags, penalize for overweight and why you can't even pay past a certain point) and approximate total passenger weight (not to mention FUEL weight holy crap, the amount of diesel required to power a PLANE is staggering and it is NOT light).

Plus size passengers have to buy an extra seat not just for their comfort and the other passengers' but to factor into that limit. I've has flights where we had to deny boarding to passengers to accommodate a plus size one or vice versa because of the weight limit.

I get where she's coming from - I'm in the same boat - but the guidelines are in place for a reason, for safety, not to discriminate against heavier set individuals. Thanks for coming to my TED talk lol. Love ya Danky! ❤

The irony is that she's privileged enough to ride airplanes enough to complain about it consistently... As an immigrant, our family barely get to go visit our extended family, and when we do, we pay for the cheapest flights, usually with assigned seats rather than booked which means middle aisles. It's extremely uncomfortable. Flights are uncomfortable. Unless you pay extra. That's kinda the same regardless of your size, unless you have the extra money. If she can book two seats often enough to passionately complain about them, at least she can afford it.

Danky, unfortunately, it's quite common in the US for doctors to blame weight or being female on the issue and not look into it further (not saying it's not either but  dismissal isn't rare)

As a former fat person, doctors absolutely attributed medical problems I was going through to my weight even when it didn’t make any sense 💀 and would tell me that the problem would subside as I lose weight. Mind you, some of these are problems I had before I even got fat. Fast forward, I’ve lost sooo much weight over the years and still suffer from certain health problems that they blamed on my weight. Please don’t give the American healthcare system more credit than it deserves 😂

I will say, Doctors DO ignore actual problems for overweight people. I was around 200 pounds and went in because I was having severe pain in my legs/hip. Doctor immediately wrote it off as weight, despite being this weight for a while with no problems previously. Turns out, once I finally got someone to listen to me and run some tests, I had some severe vitamin deficiencies that were causing my muscles to separate from bone and deteriorate. It took actual months to get to the bottom of it because the doctors just kept telling me to lose weight. dieting actually made those deficiencies worse and put me in more pain.

17:09 while i agree with most of your points this is definitely something that happens. My uncle had years of being dismissed for being over weight just to find out he had stage 3 cancer(don’t remember what kind specifically) whether or not him being overweight helped cause the cancer they still dismissed his symptoms that would have led him to an earlier diagnosis. It’s horrible and happens often to women and overweight people.

kinda random! as someone who worked at a gym for a long time, sadly we do have a lot of people who are judgy in gym spaces. especially towards people who are more heavy-set (not even necessarily fat) so i do think people need to be more mindful about the anxiety surrounding it...

As a recovered crack/heroin addict, a single mother of 3 working full time and in school, I was 90 pounds when I was using. Since I became sober August of 2024, I have gained sooooo much weight.
You never know what someone went through to get to the weight they currently are. Be kind, always

I understand the whole doctor thing, but it rlly does happen especially with women

2:02 I have actually seen/heard of a lot of times where plus size people do get judgmental/mean stares and have even been verbally harassed in gyms just for being there and being plus size. It's so sad and makes no sense because plus size people are judged for being overweight, but then they're often judged when they're in the gym trying to work out. Like there's no winning :(

There's no winning when you're fat! I was 300lbs and I lost 50lbs so far, but people say that I did it wrong because I lost it on a glp1. But people say that dieting is wrong because you'll 'gain it back, and what about exercise?' and if you exercise they get mad that you're in their space. You get made fun of for eating a salad, walking on a treadmill, or working with your doctor. Every single thing you can do when you're fat is wrong in these people's eyes. But with that being said, I do not like jaebae and she actively makes it harder to be a fat woman because she is such a public spectacle.

It's worth pointing out, she was apparently at the hospital claiming she needed help for a mental health crisis. As a psych ward regular, she definitely seems like a psych patient.

I use em dashes :( they existed before chatpgt guys. I love me an em dash--they're useful to break up thoughts without overusing commas. They're functionally an in-between of commas and semicolons. (remember, what was chatgpt trained off of? The writings of humans. Who also use em dashes.)

“Nobody uses that dash” every a03 writer just got a tad bit offended

I thought prince was a hairless cat this whole time..

Oh my gosh the shoe thing 35:37.

There’s a website that matches people with the same size feet that are missing the opposite leg so they can share.

19:37 i agree with almost everything in the video except this. Mybe its not as big of an issue in the UK but its pretty well documented that doctors can be much more dismissive of overweight (especially female) patients. PCOS is a good example, the hormone imblance itself causes a lot of issues including weight gain, and insted if treating the root cause (the hormone imbalence) or even looking for it, doctors will just tell you ti "loose weight" which is not helpfull and dosnt treat the underlying issue

17:00 I’m fat but not morbidly obese. My doctors are blaming my chronic pain (which I have had since I was a child, before I gained weight) on my weight. Doctors do blame a lot of unrelated things on weight.
