Im British, live in a little town called wellington, Somerset.. had an American woman try to get in a confrontation with me recently in a carpark. I was with my 90yr old father, i was helping get him in my car..
She pulled up so close, she didn't really leave herself space to get out, she waited about 30 seconds then opened her door into us and then told me to thank her for the little time she had to sit there..  She was Rude and entitled and i certainly wasn't apologising to her! It’s decency surely to wait?? , he is 90 and took a little longer to get in my car!

It should be just normal to queue in the order you arrived… and yes, we let elderly in front of us

The UK has its fair share of knobhead drivers but most people tend to take the attitude that a journey takes as long as it takes. If you’re in a rush, you should have left earlier.

Queuing is just about fairness

The only place you don't queue is in a pub or bar. But even then if the barman came to you out of turn most people would say "he was here first" out of respect

hot tea is a great thirst quencher in hot weather

A famous, old saying in the UK (and I would guess similar around the world?) is: "Manners Maketh Man" - Show respect to your elders and treat people how you want to be treated... Unfortunately, some have LOST that attitude... BUT hey!, I still try to stick to those values and I KNOW others still do too!"

Taking time out for tea or coffee is a great thing to do to help you gather your thoughts if you are feeling overwhelmed in any situation.

In the UK we don't carry guns, but we would rather say sorry even if it's not our fault. You don't even think about it... it's crazy to think that this is the complete opposite in the US.

Saying "sorry" is not apologising or an acceptance of fault. It's an expression of regret. Both parties bumping into each other might say sorry because they regret what happened. You can also say "I'm sorry for your loss" when it's clearly nobody's fault but it's something that you realise the other person might be sad about.

once you have seen the lightside, you can never go back to the darkside!

Thousands of British people queued for DAYS (24/7) to pay their respect to our late Queen Elizabeth II when she sadly passed way - no issues.

British way of smoothing the way = "sorry"
"No, my fault"
"Well no harm done"
"Quite"
And we are on our way, smiles on faces everyone happy.

I took my son to Florida when he was 4 along with his mum. After a long day we were waiting for the last bus from the theme park back up the highway to International drive. We were in a motel near what was said to be the world's largest McDs at the time, but i digress. I thought we were in a queue but as soon as the doors opened, it was like feeding time in the alligator pen. We had a buggy and everyone just shoved past us!
Im not blaming Americans, as the theme parks are full of people globally. But why is queueing classed as a British thing? It should be a human thing!

When I was younger and we wanted tickets for a big game or a gig, we would have to go and queue. Can you imagine the violence if they open the shutters to sell tickets? It would be a bloodbath!!

Never EVER start a conversation in the UK about faith.  That in a mostly secular country is a conversation stopper😂

If someone says "alright?" You say "alright? " Straight back it's a nice acknowledgement of everything's alright with us . It's really nice 🙂

Britain's thirst for tea, resulted in  the fastest sail ships of the time,  as clippers would race each other on the 14000 mile journey from China to get back to Britain with the freshest tea.  One of the most famous of these ships being the Cutty Sark.

Never take British kindness for weakness though 🇬🇧

You don’t seem like a typical American. You seem gentle and kind. You would be welcome here and fit in

Went to Turkey a few years ago. Lovely hotel. Staff were so nice and then a coach turned up with French people. Absolutely horrid, no respect. They were awful and the staff knew it. They are so rude. Cueing up at the buffet and they would just walk in front of you. I’m British by the way.
